Deep Dish...virtually everyone agrees that horoscopes you see in newspapers and magazines are crap. Birth charts are much different.

Yeah, like "don't listen to women."

If you are picking and choosing what you will believe, then what is the point of having a bible at all? Why don't you just write your own from scratch?

Astrology violates the first commandment. If it takes a thumping for you to realize this, then so be it.
I don't pay any attention to the bible at all. I also don't believe in organized religion because the second mankind touches anything it turns to sh*t. Organized religion is hypocrisy and hatred in it's worst form. I believe in God, but I won't step foot in church. I won't read the bible. God didn't build churches...mankind did. God didn't write the bible...man did. God made the trees, rivers, lakes and oceans...and that's where I go to "worship".

The other day i was talking to this girl who was a sagittarius and she asked me to guess her birthday....i know that theyre from nov 22 to dec 21, so the first guess i throw out was only 3 days away, she was like wtf thats really close!!! and the second guess i threw out was dead on.....she was sooooo surprisedand impressed, and it made for good conversation after that.
i hooked up with a scorpio a few years back and we got along so well , recently hooked up with another scorpio and it was truely scary just how much both of them matched the star signs , and how close they were together all the way down to what they said

It doesn't take much intelligence to realize that atrology has no basis whatsoever in fact.
good to see you have your on opinion , but there is more to life than what we see ourselves

but i tell you after going through hell and back with a leo and then seeing it several times again in the future was enough to sink in for me that i just dont get along on a relationship basis with Leos

gotta keep an open mind

Well then, there is still $1 million—say that like Austin Powers—awaiting anyone who can simply demonstrate that those birth charts work. To wit, I will seriously throw in my life’s savings, all my possessions, and an additional $10,000 to anyone who successfully completes the JREF challenge, i.e. is awarded the $1 million prize. What a bargain!

Has anyone here ever wondered if all that Astrology bull5hit actually works the opposite way? Have you ever thought that what a person's "sign" says is how people adapt their personalities? They form their own morals, behavior, and fallings based on their sign?

I personally don't believe in the stuff. Ever since joining this board, I've gone through the following changes:

Follower -> Leader
Emotional -> Logical
Religious -> Athiest
Doormat -> Hardass
Giver -> Protective
Humble -> Egotistical

And there is much more.

How is Astrology going to hold up to all these changes that I've made to my personality? It isn't. There is no way that Astrology is going to be accurate when I've done complete turnarounds in my views, morals, and self-esteem.

People can become a product of themselves. However, most are a product of outside sources (ie parents, friends, astrology, etc).

If you tell me that Astrology is the ultimate definition of how people behave, then all of mankind would be helpless saying "I can't change the way I am".

Pure bull5hit.

In the back of men's magazines, it's mostly phone sex ads. In the back of women's magazines, it's almost all phone psychic ads. Each gender has their own bullsh!t that they fall for. Why do women love astrology so much?

Why do women love astrology so much?
Maybe because women lack self-control.

All this Astrology bull5hit seems to center around emotions which women thrive on. Just look at Wyldfire's reading on the first page. Look at all the words and phrases that relate to emotions and feelings:

- angry feelings
- gracious and affectionate
- fun-loving, spirited and energetic
- reservoir of physical energy within you
- curious
- totally enthusiastic
- idealistic, generous, sociable, cheerful and very positive!
- High-spirited and courageous
- avoid emotionally restrictive or intimate relationships

Hell, I could continue copying and pasting for a long while.

Just for the hell of it, I got a reading from the site Wyldfire recommended. I'm going to pick it apart using my AFC days vs DJ days. I won't post the whole thing since I doubt anyone would care.

You like to read books and to write letters and to talk -- constantly.
Not accurate at all.

Because of the high nervous tension that you always seem to have, athletic activity would be a good way for you to burn off energy.
In my AFC days, yes. In my DJ days, no.

Extremely sensitive and emotional, you absorb the emotions of others (whether positive or negative) like a sponge. Emotionally vulnerable, you are easily upset and tend to cry readily
LMFAO!!! That was me as an AFC. Doesn't apply now.

You are at your best when you can structure your environment in such a way that you are surrounded by positive, upbeat people.

That's me now. As an AFC, I tended to drown in my emotions with people who were just as depressed as I.

Indeed, at times this can be a disadvantage, because you can be a sucker for anyone who needs help.
No longer true. I'm always watching out for myself now.

You always want to be proud of yourself and will never do anything that will make yourself look bad. You need the respect and admiration of others and enjoy attracting attention to yourself
No longer true. I do what I want, not caring what others think.

You love games and sports
Completely false. I'm too technical

You tend to be very opinionated -- you have strongly felt notions about things and are quite vocal about expressing and defending them.
I am now. I couldn't do this in my AFC days.

you can be a good critic because you can remain objective and unemotional about most things.
Doesn't this contradict how emotional I am?

You tend to be unselfish and giving in relationships and are extremely sensitive of the needs of others.
No longer true.

You're extremely loyal and defensive of your family, neighborhood, community and culture.
Never has been true.

It is important that you had a strong father figure or role model early in life to mold your life course and direction.
Ha! The day I consider my father to be a good role model is the day I kill myself.

I took two of the Meyers-Briggs tests and I got the birthdates and personality type of everyone in the group to compare. Most Fire Signs were Extroverts. Most Water signs were Introverted. There were a lot of things like that I found.

It also said I'm extremely logical and that I view things with logic and reason.

I used to think Astrology was a bunch of bunk as well. Then I studied it for 5 years and discovered that it has a lot of merit. I don't put any weight in Tarot, though...because I studied that as well and found it to almost never be accurate.

Desdisnova....post the whole thing. The planets each represent a certain area of your personality. The Sun sign describes the person you present to the rest of the world (how they see you). The Moon sign describes your emotions. Mercury is how you give and receive communication. Mars is your temperament, fighting and such. Venus is how you are in the area of love and what you find beauty in, etc.

I really don't want to bore the other readers here, so I'll end it when it gets irritatingly stupid

The Sun sign describes the person you present to the rest of the world (how they see you)
I don't care what other people think of me. In other words, the Sun is irrelevant. Therefore, I won't post it.

The Moon sign describes your emotions.
Here's what Mr. Moon started off with:

You always want to be proud of yourself and will never do anything that will make yourself look bad. You need the respect and admiration of others
I thought that was the sun's job? Mr. Moon has proved himself irrelevant.

Now, let's see what Mercury says:

You tend to be very opinionated -- you have strongly felt notions about things and are quite vocal about expressing and defending them. Yet you are also an original thinker -- you enjoy shocking others with your offbeat, original thoughts. You appreciate and need mental and intellectual stimulation. Your judgment is usually fair and impartial -- you can be a good critic because you can remain objective and unemotional about most things.
That one I can't argue with.

Now for Venis.

You have a dreamy, fanciful, romantic nature
If I were like that, my three year LTR would have gone to 5hit or ended by now. Venus can suck what rhymes with Venus.

Mars

Your moods are very important to your overall well-being. You are confident and self-assertive when you are feeling upbeat, and you are retiring, irritable and grumpy when you get depressed about anything. Very sensitive, you wear your heart on your sleeve. You are easily angered whenever you think someone has slighted you. It is best for you to show your anger immediately and let it all out, rather than to try to hold it in or to hold grudges for a long time. You're extremely loyal and defensive of your family, neighborhood, community and culture.
Half of that is bull5hit. I hate my family and I enjoy littering. I also wouldn't consider myself sensitive.

Should I keep going?

If you aren't going to post it in it's entirety there's no sense in posting any of it.

Why do you hate your family? There is usually much to dislike about some of the things family members do and say, but hate is a very strong word. You shouldn't carry that kind of baggage around with you. You can answer in PM if you want to answer at all, if you'd rather not post about it.

Well, let's start with my parents. Let's use words like physical abuse, physical scars, emotional abuse, fighting, control, fear, I could go on. For my not-so-immediate family: gossip, rumors.

It all makes me sick. People kept on telling me it's a teenage phase. I'm damn near 30. Is it still a teenage phase?

Parents do the best they can with what they know how. Sometimes they don't know how to be good parents. I'm sorry you had a rough childhood. For your own good...you need to forgive those that have hurt you. You don't have to tell them you forgive them...but you need to do it at least in your heart and mind. Holding onto hatred doesn't hurt those who hurt you. It does, however, hurt you and make you miserable when you think about it. It's like victimizing yourself again for being victimized. Holding onto anger and hatred doesn't prevent the person who hurt you from going about their life, happy as a clam. It only hurts YOU. Don't do that to yourself. You can choose to feel like a victim forever and continue to victimize yourself or you can let it go, move on with life and be a survivor. Forgiveness is something you give to yourself to make YOUR life better. You need to remember that it's a gift to yourself, not to someone you don't feel deserves forgiveness.

If there was an alcoholic in the home (that's common in situations like you described) you shld check out ACOA (Adult Children of Alcoholics). I'm certain there are tons of information online. If you need to talk to someone or just want to discuss this more feel free to PM me.
