Do women want it just as bad?

I'm starting to think that women (specifically the age range I'm interested in, 18-22) want sex just as much as men do. Their problem in giving it up is that they're so concerned about how it makes them look (the whole "will you still respect me?" thing).

Is this true, or am I getting misguided?

Perhaps some of you experienced DJs can help me out. Thanks!

I think women want it EVEN MORE than men..but social stigma keeps them from coming out front and being honest about it..

I read an interesting article a while back addressing the female claim that men are much worse about this sort of thing. I HIGHLY recommend it. Click here.

If you've ever had a woman give you crap about how men are "pigs" and "cheaters," have her read this article. If she's got any reason in her whatsoever, it will shut her up.

I think it also reveals exactly what Starman said -- it's more of a "social stigma" than a lack of desire.

This being the case, what are some good ways to get a woman to get past these inhibitions and persuade her to give in to what she really wants?

Good suggestion, but I was thinking more along the lines of verbal conditioning or something. :)

to be honest with you..some people have overactive hormones that make them want sex more than the typical person (these are similar to the hormones you experience in adolescence) when sex is all you can think about..

so it will vary degree to degree with person to person..

some ways to get her past her inhibitions is soft porn(if she doesnt mind that), and being sexually suggestive to the point where it doesnt embarass her anymore, or going slowly and building trust, and eliminating any ideas in her head that sex is bad..

Nope they don't. Sorry, not even close :( . Testosterone is a hormone thats mainly responsible for sex drive in humans. Unfortunately, men have about 10 times as much testosterone than women :(

That's true.

Of course, generally speaking, don't men and women BOTH want sex, just for different reasons?

As a guy, I think of sex as an enjoyable, physical activity that I am naturally (and quite powerfully) drawn to. Don't women ultimately see sex as a form of human interaction and emotional intimacy?

In other words, to me, it's an instinct, to them, it's an emotional need.

If this is true, then wouldn't it be feasible to say that a woman may want sex just as much as a man, just for different reasons?

I guess it just depends on the girl. I do realize that many women -- especially those my age -- enjoy sex for the same reason I do -- it's fun! But generally speaking, don't women, deep down, view sex in an entirely different way than men do?

Just some food for though. I'm just trying to learn about women myself, and I have a lot of it left to do.

To be more succint ...

I may want to have sex with a particular girl because I like her body and find her very attractive.

She may want to have sex with me because it makes her feel feminine (in that she seduced me), desired, and closer to someone?

In other words, if she feels safe/secure/special/etc. with me, that makes her want to have sex with me more, does it not? However, none of those things have anything to do with my physical appearance. It's simply that she craves emotional intimacy (which, for her, will arise out of physical intimacy) with a guy she likes.

Two different approaches, but both of us want it -- just as badly.

A little off topic - but from that article:

"8. Deceitful ways: How would you feel if you found out that your child is really the child of another man conceived through an extramarital affair? Well believe it or not, the annual Parentage Report from the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) reported that in 1999, 28% of men who had their DNA tested were not the biological fathers of the children they were unknowingly raising as their own. In 2000, the rate increased to 30%.

Not only are some women committing adultery, but they also follow up by doing the unimaginable moral sin of Parental Fraud (yes, believe it or not, it's so common that there's a term for it). If you want to know more about this horrible crime, visit http://www.paternityfraud.com."

Holy Sh!t!!! 30%!!!!

Yes a lot of women want sex just as much (if not more) than men. Some women don't admit it and some do.

Sorry ladies, but you got basic human biology and chemistry against you. You just can't compete, not even near, when it comes to sex drives between men and women. Comparing sex drives between men and women is like racing a ford escort against a porche. There is no comparision. We have 10 times the amount of hormone induced sex drive as you do. Thats an indisputable scientific fact. :p

There you go again myfriendblu with the generalizations...

I said A LOT of women... not ALL women... obviously, not ALL women are as horny as ALL men... but not even ALL men are as horny as ALL men... There are guys that never ever have sexual desire (OMG) and then there are crazy nymphomaniac women. And I've also heard that the more sex you have the more sex you crave... so if you have a problem desiring sex, the less sex you have, the less sex you will continue to desire. Maybe in general, the male physical body has a higher sex drive than the female physical body... but there are exceptions and there are also cases that involve more than just the physical bodies.

Article in my files:

Are Women More Sexual Than Men?

It's partly women's greater selectivity in mate selection that fools so many men into thinking that women have much lower sex drives than men.

We disagree vehemently with that conclusion -- it's clearly wrong!

Look at it this way: Until the medical advances of the last century, the consequences of having sex were far higher for women than for men. After all, it was women who ran the double risks of:
Pregnancy, and
Death during childbirth

If the "higher risk" scenario is true (and all evidence supports it), it's logical to conclude that women would need an even greater incentive to consent to sex … such as a stronger sex drive and/or a greater orgasmic capacity.

Based on anecdotal evidence, the average woman does in fact seem to have a greater sex drive than the average man.
But many men don't realize this, because women pretend to be less interested in sex and because women often try to be more discriminating in their choice of sex partners.

An easy way to visualize the difference between male mating standards and female mating standards involves using the "1 to 10" rating scale. You're no doubt aware of the ratings that men often use to rate the physical attractiveness of a given woman when describing her to a buddy.

Most women (by the law of averages) are 4's, 5's, or 6's, with progressively fewer 3's and 7's, 2's and 8's, and 1's and 9's as we move farther away from the mean. And some guys insist that there are no true 10's out there.

Within that statistical distribution, most men would find most women to be "acceptable" (assuming they couldn't do better).
But now imagine a world where there are only one-quarter as many women in the "5 to 10" end of the beauty range … but three times as many women in the "1 to 4" end of the range.

The men in this hypothetical world would be a lot less likely to find a woman whom they consider physically attractive. After all, most of the available ladies would be quite homely and there'd be lot less genuine visual excitement for those men.

A "9" or a "10" would absolutely mesmerize a man if he could find one (and have sex with her) in this hypothetical rarefied-beauty scenario. A man lucky enough to bed one of these extraordinarily-rare beautiful women would most definitely enjoy an experience for the ages, simply because such an encounter would be so truly special.

And that's the situation women face in terms of libido.

Women don't have as many opportunities to really enjoy Best Of Breed sex (it tends to be "rarefied" for them, thanks to the stiffer selection criteria they've evolved to require) but when they do enjoy it, they really enjoy it. Provided they have the right type of partner, females can climax far more often than can males.

That's Nature's way of prodding females to engage in sex (and to compete ferociously for the best males) despite the substantial risks and burdens of pregnancy and childbirth.

I definitely have to agree with you on the bit about generalizations. They never work.

I'm the type who wishes that life (and everyone you'll meet in it) could be packaged up in a nice little box and everything/one would be completely predictable. Sucks for me. :)

Malibu,

Any pointers on identifying girls who have a little bit of nympho in them? :)
