Do politicians cheat on their wives b/c they don't put out?

Hate to break it to you guys, but men don't cheat on their wives because they aren't putting out. Men cheat because they grow tired of their wives and they don't have the character to restrain themselves, and being a famous figurehead doesn't help, as it gives you more options and temptation. Instead of "keeping it fresh" or whatever, they let things go and never repair them, a sort of passive aggressive Don Juan, I guess. I'd be willing to bet that the wives that get cheated on are ready and willing to do whatever, but are probably weirded out because of their husband's lack of sex drive. Same way some men get addicted to porn.

An AFC is the one who's wife won't be putting out, at least for him. And he definitely won't cheat on her, he's too busy buying her sh1t and trying to figure out all her "mixed" signals.

In America, the quickest way to calm the voting populace and to gain their trust is to have a wife and kids and display good old fashion family values. You don't have to preach about it, but you have to have that picture. Not too many single men get elected president. In fact has there ever been one?

That's why this Governor's career is over. There have not been any presidents in recent memory who had public scandals over cheating, or who have been divorce before the election and went on to get elected president.

This is one of the most AFC things ever in the history of the known universe. This guy should be the new spokesperson for eHarmony.

Seriously, he had to fly clandestine ops style a third of the way around planet earth to hook up with some chick? Really? What's wrong with the 40 million or so that live within 200 miles of him? None of them were The One?

The guy is on record calling his Argentine mistress his "soulmate." That's all I need to hear, set, game, match - the guy is an AFC.

You can debate whether Clinton, Ensign, Vitter, Spitzer, Gingrich, Edwards, McCain, etc., etc. were schmucks for cheating on their wives, but Sanford is a consummate AFC. Don't let this thread go too political or I'll have to close it.

That said though, Sanford's story is a textbook example of how damaging an AFC mindset is for a man's life. Killing that inner AFC has a lot more riding on it in terms of how it affects one's life than just dealing with women.

Great point. There is already a huge social stigma among for staying single in your 30s. Now imagine trying to run for public office as a bachelor where perception is EVERYTHING.
