The possibility of attraction over the internet may be difficult to imagine, probably mostly to people of the older generations, but it is a thing which should not be overlooked. Albeit somewhat immature, dating for my generation (90s babies and younger) often focuses on making initial contact through social networks like Facebook. This is followed by a period of conversing (which may span months before any physical meet). It is entirely possible that in this time, one can become attracted to someone (or at least the idea of them) over the internet.
