I have been added by a really hot woman on a dating website, she is 26 I'm 42 I would class her as HB 8.5, we got chatting it turns out she is Swedish living in the UK, but she has asked me to contact her through Skype.
Is there any chance of a possible scam here virus attack etc.
Just found her on Facebook she has 97 followers and of them there are about 3 women

Yes, people can get your IP address through Skype. It's best to use Proxy's/VPN's like Ultrasurf when Skyping with someone you don't know.

That's what I'm thinking but what are your reasons
You are reasonably intelligent enough to know when things are suspect. There are so many women out there within a 5 miles radius (****, within a 1 mile radius) of you that there is no need to play this game.

If I can't exchange phone numbers with a girl, I don't talk to her. Girls offer up their numbers to me via social mediums (e.g. POF) without me even asking for them. Why would I waste my time Skyping with someone I've never met?

No HB 8.5 is gonna message you online. Wishful thinking.

She (he) is phishing for your IP in order to spam you.

Case closed. Delete her.

I don't mess with online dating but what would this scammer gain by getting your IP address?
All that would give is the city you lived in, right?
I don't see how it's related to phishing or anything, but i don't know that much.

Someone that has your IP address can DDOS your internet, view personal information(including where you live) or even upload spyware/malware(usually advertisement spam, but they can still upload a more severe virus)
Of course if you have a decent security provider like AVG it makes it harder for them to do anything.

If you think it's a scam it is. Gut is almost always right.

Yeah there are so many scammers on dating sites that if you even have a slight feeling it may be one, 99% of the time it is.
