Do girls look for their fathers?

I've heard before that, and without even consciously realizing, a girl will often look for a man similar to her father. Is this true? If so, why?

They are.

They won't admit it to you.
But you shoudl naturally assume so.
If you look at your relationship with your woman, of any age, from THIS Perspective.....
You will have a more successful realtionship.

I believe so. Even more so if the father was absent, which is why some woman end up with men who aren't good for them.

Well it's just that looking back at my past gf's, I've noticed I was somewhat their fathers (personality-wise).

My girlfriend has told me numerous times that she wants to marry a man just like her dad. She also has told me I am a lot like him and actually encourages behavior similar to his- i.e. smoking cigars. Its very scary actually.

I read that most girls with good relationships with their fathers seek men who look, or act like their fathers.. because they feel naturally comfortable with them.

my fiances father is 5 7 I am 5'6" we are both democratic voters...we are a lot alike except im athiest and hes religious..but personalities are similiar
