do you guys think in a way that no one realli like their job and ppl as a whole just do it for money.
look at teachers -once it hits 3 oclock most teachers are gone home. if they love their jobs, they would have stayed longer.
look at doctors its like they don't care about their job and just wants patients out realli fast so they can carry on to the next patient.-why more money.

would anyone here do a job they didn;t like at all , but would still do it b/c it paid a lot of $$. example police officers get paid quite a lot ,but endangers to ones -could get shot at. accounting hate numbers, but would do it since it pays well. how importants is money vs liking a job.

what do u say to ur folks if they tell u to get into a trade or field ,and u dislike it. one reason they want u to get into it is b/c it pays a lot of $$$$, and is the only reason. Plumbing -what do u guys think. i'm not into getting down and dirty and fixing ppl's pipes. i'm 26 and i don;t think i can do grunt work-whcih is the kind of work one has to do in the beginning and get paid very little. I'm not that big either 5 7 150. But yes they can make 65/hr -self employed maybe even more. why do my chinese parents who are first generation chinese-care soo much about money. money this and that and making money.while white western ppl think more about hey do u like what ur are doin and if not quit it.

do u guys think ppl do their job for the love of it or just for the sole purpose of money money. no one reealli like their job and just wants to be paid. money is king and is so important in choosing a career. go into trades like fixing some pipes just b/c it pays a lot. become a doctor not to help ppl,but it makes a lot of $$ and ppl would respect u since u own big property and nice things. how about this sayin "you don't like it, who cares force urself to like it since it pays a lot of money." "you force urself to be good at it and like it" why pays lot of money

No offense but to be in your mid to later 20s and type and not use proper English is unacceptable.

maybe english isn't his first language.

anyhoo, in this world, MOST people do not like their jobs. that is why it's called WORK... instead of, say, PLAY.

and most people do it not just because it pays a LOT of money. but just that it pays money!

but here's the thing, if you don't HAVE to do a job you don't like, if you have a CHOICE... WHY STAY?

it makes sense that many people are miserable because they don't (or feel that they don't) have a choice... and blah blah blah all you want about self determination yadda yadda yadda... if you have the pressure of a wife, family, mortgage, yeah, i'd say a lot of people are STUCK.

but again, if you don't have to be stuck, why stick?

Your examples are not really that good. Most teachers I have met like their jobs. Unless there is a reason for them to stay at school after people leave, they don't since there isn't any real reason for them to stay at an empty school. Teachers also don't generally get paid very much, it varies from country to country and public and private, but in most cases it isn't that much.

Patient turn over rates aren't important for doctors, patient survivability is, not to mention becoming a doctor is a huge job in terms of time, if they didn't on some level want to treat patients then they have plenty of other opportunities to use their medical expertise to make in many cases better money with better hours.

Police Officers do not make that much money, not to mention that there are risks in their job. There are many much less hazardous that pay significantly more.

Besides the fact is that there are lots of very successful people doing what they do enjoy.

However, this is also a cultural thing as well. Some cultures define success by a job and money, but quite a lot of them consider those things, at best, secondary, to the quality of someone's life.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

I think you shouldn't hate your job at least. Obviously if I could work for 5 years I didn't particularly like but would make 10 million then I'd do it, but I'd rather not become a lawyer or somethin like that, they make a 'good wage' but work like slaves.

Apart from extreme examples, I think enjoyment is more important.

there is a difference between "like" and "love". Most people learn to like their job....and then there are the rare few who want to do their job 24/7 because they love it so much.

The reason your parents are pushing for "lots of money" is because they know what it's like to not have any...and not have any apportunities to make some.

I never had a job that I din't like (at least half the time)

I know what it's like to know what you want to do... but you have to jump in....you can't just sit around, your 26....a grown man...you got to do something. eventually you'll run into something that will peak your curiosity and you'll move towards that.

I could easily be an accountant or something stupid having to do with business...but all that s.hit sux (for me)

Find something YOU love doing and then find a way to make a living doing it..

for me I'm an illustrator, I love drawing, painting and architecture I can make a TON of money doing that stuff in the concept design field...everyday of work for me will be motivational, fun and inspiring while 99.9% of the people who took the easy money doing a job that only provides for them, hate their lives and only look forward to weekends and vacations

so the real question is, how do you want to live your life and how hard are you willing to work to get there.

Work is work. Recreation is recreation.

Why does this country confuse the 2 so much? As long as u dont absoultely dispise what your doing, who cares. You should be out to make as much money as u can or as much money as u want, so that you can enjoy your actual life - friends, girfriends, wives, children, hobbies etc etc. Worek shouldn't be ur life. I think nobody should work 12 hrs a day, thats sick. And this country has the least vacation and works the most hrs of any in the world.

Everybody has certain talents and certain things they suck at. As well as different levels of intelligence, physical strength, drive, willpower etc. I am going to be a train conductor in a couple months. Do i adore trains? No. Do i love punching tickets and testing air brakes? Not really. But i dont hate it either. Not at all. The reason i'm doin this job is cuz it pays great, and the benefits and retirement are very good. The Long island railroad is impossibkle to get into, they get 3000 resumes a day cuz of people like me who want to be set for life. Everyone loves that comfort of knowing you'll have good pay, great benfits and can retire at 55 with a great pension. The gap between middle class and the rich is growing alot, its impossible to have a family and a house in NY these days or alot of other places for that matter. Dont be foolish and do somehtin u love that pays 30 k a year.

My love in life is baseball. I hate writing so i dont wanna be a sportwriter, im kinda shy and im not gonna be a sportcaster, and im 5'6'' and not athletic, so im not a pro baseball player. Therefore baseball is out of the question for me. So i thought about it logically, and said hey this conductor thing is an amazing job. I'll be set for life and i kinda like being on my feet all day as opposed to sitting down in an office, even if im not all that excited by trains.

A job is earning a living, anybody that thinks its anything else is fooling themselves. When their 65 and they have no money in the bank and have to work till their 80 or else theyd be homeless, theyll wish they hadn't done soemthing they loved.

If ur able to do somethin u love, thats amazing dont get me wrong, but its called work for a reason. My life is not my 8 hrs on the train. I dont consider that my life. I do that so i can have a life. I want a family someday and to be able to go on vacations and do my hobbies.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

It's really sad that most people don't love to do their job. Maybe they just haven't found what they would like to do. I suggest for those people to go figure out what they truely love to do and go do it while getting paid.

I work over the summer mowing lawns at my neighborhood as my job and bring in about $100 a week, but i love to accomplish the job. Would i do it for the rest of my life, if I could make enough money I would, but you know what though? I am working on something much larger here and I beileve that I know that I will love the job because I am creating it.

btw DJintraining06 my cousin does this job for a living in Rhode Island area and he makes $60 K a year and invests half of it. he is worth a couple hundred thousand right now per year. So, if you are smart you CAN do the thing that you love AND make a kick ass amount of money.

I do a job that I like and the job pays good, although not very good for me currently because I'm a student, but once you establish a good base of clients, contacts and a reputation, the pay is good. I'm a webdesigner and server side programmer. I've always liked designing.
But of course, once you do anything repeatedly every day, most of the times you'd much rather do something else that finish that site for the guy that sells bathroom tiles or something and gives you a hard time cause he can't make up his mind on what he wants.
Overall, you can find a job you like doing, although you probably won't be as enthusiastic about it after doing it for some time, but it's still a job you like.

whats your point ??? work can't be enjoyable and fun ??

A job is earning a living, anybody that thinks its anything else is fooling themselves. When their 65 and they have no money in the bank and have to work till their 80 or else theyd be homeless, theyll wish they hadn't done soemthing they loved.
if your 25 doing a job you don't love, and retire at 55 thats 30 years of your life doing something meaningless...as opposed to someone who is 25 that works until they are 80...that would be 55 years of doing a job that gave their lives purpose desire and fulfillment...IN NO WAY WOULD ANYONE FEEL REGRET FOR CHOOSING THAT PATH..however I do think its important to be honest with yourself, if you don't have the drive or ability to achieve how you want to spend your life then you will have to settle for less and LEARN TO LIKE what you do.

If your able to do something u love, thats amazing dont get me wrong, but its called work for a reason.
You sound like having a job has to suck...no kidding its called work for a reason, you have responsibilities and rules to follow..but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy what you do.

I do that so i can have a life. I want a family someday and to be able to go on vacations and do my hobbies.
just because you don't see any other options for yourself by choosing a job that is meaningless to you does not mean that guys like me who choose jobs that are fun will have to forfeit having a family or going on vacations and enjoying hobbies..in fact my job can be added to the list of things that make my life happy

Do what you love. I get paid chump change to do social services but I wake up every day looking forward to work. I love my job.

"Research shows that more money makes people significantly happier only if their family income is below $30,000; after $50,000 money makes no difference."

I think this largely depends on where you live. 50k would barely get a family 4 by here in Orange County.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

I think it is essential that you do something that you LOVE. Think about it, when you are out of college, a large part of your day will be spent at work. If you do something that you love everything will be so much better.

I studied engineering and commerce for two years, before realizing that I really didn't like nor care for those fields, so I switched over to law. It was the best desicion of my life. Instead of being bored all day at school and skipping classes, I actually look forward to get up at 6 am and go to school. This has a great impact on the rest of my life. I'm upbeat all the time, I enjoy what I do and I think it's fun.

I can absolutely guarantee that if you LOVE what you are doing you will LOVE your job and not have it feel like work.

But if you are also business owner oriented - the sky is the limit. Love+ambition = MONEY no matter what field you are in - lawyer, dolphin farm, go karts.

When I used to work at the bar, i liked it, and didn't feel like work too much..i DIDN'T LOVE IT THOugh. I do love what I do now, but it isn't my job, yet.

All jobs suk. Even if you get into a career that you like initially, you will hate it after 8 hours a day/5 days a week/50 weeks a year/year after year. Get into a lucrative field like finance. At least if you hate it, you are making $$$$$$$. Working sux period. Long commutes, assh0le bosses, bitter coworkers, ****ty raises, almost no time off, ugly coworker women, stress...........i hate working.........god i hate it........
