If you go to the National Board of Dermotologists Website...you can drop they an email.

"Diet has no coorelation whatsoever with the production of acne"

My Cousin is a Dermotologist in NYC...hey says its the biggest Myth on the planet regarding acne. I used to belive this too.

Think about it....you always have good skin days and bad skin days........when you have a bad one you analyze what you did wrong..............and naturally people uneducated in the field of dermotology come to their first census: diet.

Diet can affect each and every other organ.

What you consume CAN and DOES reflect in your skin.

Does smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol not affect the skin of some people?

There is then no logical reason, why certain components of certain foods would not have the slightest link to acne in certain people.

It is fairly well documented that some foods can lead to an increase in the production of sebum, for one - which equates to acne for some people.

I don't know why dermos constantly discount the role of the liver in regards to healthy skin.

I stick on the side of the fence that most Dermos' know jack regarding acne, and are more interested in the routine methods that bring in the cash...

buy about five bottles of regular asprin at the dollar store (uncoated).

Mix it up with some hot water (a few drops), make a paste and rub it on your skin, and let it set for like 10 minutes.

Asprin is basically the same acid as the stuff thats in oxy pads.

Follow up with some soap, or whatever cleaner you use, then moisterize (i use regular 100 percent aloe)

Cut out dairy 100 percent out of your diet, and cut out grease.

Drink water non stop.

Done deal, its cheap also.

To those claiming "diet" has nothing to do with acne, I feel confident that you're dead wrong. I can (at will), and have caused bad breakouts by eating foods high in sugar and fat. I remember an article this guy wrote who experimented with various types of food in the hopes he could find what was triggering his breakouts and he did this for many, many years. After loads of trial and error, including trips to the dermatologist he eventually found the cause (atleast something he could control) to be mainly sugar with grease/oils being a sort of booster especially when in combination with sugar.

This guy had really bad cystic acne and he had to completely change his diet to cure his condition. After reading his very thorough experiment I decided to do my own. Sure, antibiotics will help a little but you don't want to take them for life. The bacteria they attack will always eventually become resistent. I'll try and find his story and post a link.

Acne is totally preventable

I've been on the medication/topical treatments for less than amonth and my face is TOTALLY clear now.

Don't believe the nonsense, as long as you really take the medicine as directed you'll be clear of acne within 2 months. It gets worse for a few weeks, then starts getting better as the bacteria is killed off. Don't freak when it gets worse just keep plowing. Do whatever it takes to use the medicine as directed. Apply an approved skin cream to prevent itching/dead skin.

Just to look at it in a positive way: When your achne finally clears up your going to feel like a new you - more confident and will jump at least 1 point on the looks scale.

I still get it in patches, but after 4 years of having constant achne - dam i feel good!

^^^I dunno^^^

diet does affect your skin, dermatologists that have little scientific theory spread the myth, and the myth was debunked, true. But, the thing is, diets that inflame your skin are a cause of genetics, metabolism, and surprisingly, your insulin production...

Diets that are rich in carbohydrates create within your system a series of events leading to an overall increase in fluids and skin production. Skin production causes those lumps that form on your back after you pick one of em huge painful muthas... I cut em off when my skin is dry, they bleed like a ***** but they leave a *****in scar:p the skin on your face heals quicker but creates a well of toxins and the carbohydrates increase your insulin production which stimulates a growth factor of a special sugar that the acne bacteria thrive from. From my experience there is a T zone and an O zone on your face. The T zone from your temple over your nose down to your jaw is an area of blackeads and whiteheads, relatively simple to take care of and cause large pores associated with pock mark scars. Adversely in the O zone you have more flexible skin that has a larger subsurface area. This area in genetically dispositioned people creates a somewhat spongy tissue when an insulin-like growth hormone is directly fused into the skin(anthrax is its relative) This creates a well of the bacteria, which your body fights by opening a new blood vessel, this causes the redness of the skin along with spread infection...

I know theres no solution in my answer

There is a system designed to eradicate a system of nerve centers in the skin to block your body from over reacting to stimuli... it only costs like $30,000 USD though... I'll take the scars

chicks dig scars

yes bbe I'll take the scars over saving up my current salary for a whole year.

ROFL I have no problem with the women yet. The insecure can't care since my words hypnotize them. The secure know to look past the cover of my book:)

Pimples are a natur(e)als way of seing the weeds in society(ie AW's and golddiggers, I know way too many golddiggers)

Final notes, I am one of those people that others still look at and can't help but feel sorry for them... ie. no girl has ever considered me to be a player, and I can pull off ****y without the funny in equal doses:D

accutane works great, but dries your face like a *****

tetracycline works wonders, but only if you have the one a day kinda pimples

minocycline definitely makes you notice how oily your skin is at first

washing proerly definitely helps

antibiotics stop working for me, and when used for extended periods gave me even worse results tha I started with.

That Vitamin A cream works as well, takes for ever to dry though
