man i think the fact that Neophyte actually came out and said something speaks highly. however, for all the naysayers on here who are apprehensive. think of it this way summer is almost here if anything testing the experiment of this mad scientis will be a wicked ride.

Looks like powertrip is on a powertrip, hahaha!!!!

No seriously I think it is a great idea MOTU, I'm glad that some of us are really thinking about the site and putting in some effort!!! Although I have to agree with powertrip in a way, it is pretty obvious that you have a way with words, and probably do in the "real" world too!! Some of these newbies might not be upto an 8 week course that involves every aspect that a DJ requires. This stuff takes real time, a lot of it and over a long period. You can't just grow into a DJ over night so to speak. There may be a few burnt egos left behind but if they are willing to put their necks on the line, then they are willing to pay the price. I will wait until you post the course to decide.

MotU,

I'll be able to log on until I go to Europe. From there on I'm on a tour with a group of college students. No computer access there...*sigh* I hope we can work something out so I can do this course. I'd love to share my results, but lets get started immediately. Perhaps I can speed up the process a bit and try to get more of it done before the trip...

Thanks for the comments and advice and any learning resource available is a good one, as long as people use it to their own abilities and likings.

Oh i have a decent reputation i guess. However, being in a small circle of people, if you are somewhat of a decent DJ, you will be called a Player, and it won't be a good thing. Because if you date around the small circle, word gets around, and yeah, dates later on will be no problem, but relationships will start to detiroate rather quickly.

I will never make a million dollars being a salesman, thats just not my personality. Therefore, i use other aspects of my self and other abilities to do what i do best. I think that is the problem not just on this site, but in most of the world today.

That is why you see so many scam artists and quick bs wealthy people.

Because many people have this desire to get rich quick. To find the easy answer. Basically to get from Point A to Point Z without ever having to go through
Points B - Y.

Everbody has this knack that you don't have to put no effort into anything anymore. Most people truely believe that you don't have to work that hard to get anywhere. I don't understand this, but then again, we as a soceity blame everything on parents, teachers, priests, guys, girls, books, on others, on tv, on the internet, on this and that, and honestly, when people reach a certain age, THey CHOOSE what they want to do.

There are those exceptions, but for many, it's just bull**** that whenever something goes wrong or doesn't go their way, it's somebody elses fault.

I think the online DJ boot camp is a great idea, i just think people need to start utilizing things and not go jump into an ocean before learning how to swim. Because if you don't know how to siwm, you aren't going to learn in the ocean, you're just going to drown.

Well Guys, the DJ Boot Camp syllabus is now up... just go to http://www.sosuave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/013913.html
(DJ Boot Camp - Course Description (class is now in session)

Let me know what you think!

To respond to some posts...

Powertrip,

Actually, I'm in Oxnard... so I probably never ran into you. I've heard of Canyon Club, but never been there... is it any good?

-George

Clooney,

I understand what you mean man... take a look at the course description and tell me what you think.

Pjam,

You might want to post a seperate thread about your situation on the main board... this way many of the other DJs on this board can offer suggestions... I'm sure one of them will be able to offer something you can use.

Emoney,

My e-mail address is the_masteroftheuniverse@yahoo.com Send me an e-mail and we'll see if we can meet up... maybe someplace in between like Thousand Oaks or Agoura.

Master of the Universe

P.S. Let's try to close this thread, and start posting to the new thread, http://www.sosuave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/013913.html

oh !!!

im really lookin forward to start doin this motivational program

but there r few flaws though as to my situation ...

1- I am a medic student , exams 'll be startin after a month or so . i need to concentrate on this more than bein dj (2nd or 3rd goal)

2-i live in a middle-east country (egypt) , this site has helped me over n over again and 'll always be my saviour , for that being said , i stretched over my comfortable-zone alot as a response to the advice being said here , i got like 25-30 gals that 's really stasfied me n made me a more confident man , since i got da looks (all girls tell me that) n alot of gals in different situations associate eye-contact with me though it's so hard n like mission impossible to get gals from unpickups zones , i managed to get their numbers
since im da man

* most of the 25-30 numbers were from da net and situations like sittin next to each other in a bus , bookstores , few of them were rather from the street

accordin to our traditions , cultures , pickin up is such a difficult thing alongside with me in this i think is intermediateDj

but i really wanna get in this Campus so what do u think Master of the Universe?

HB_Hunter,

Sorry for the delay in writing you... I had stopped monitoring this thread since I wrote the newer thread.

I realize that there are more challenges in your situation with the culture and all (actually I'm from Egypt also... came to the US when I was 6 years old).

What I can recommend to you is to follow the DJ Boot Camp program to the best of your abilities. If things do get to be too difficult during a specific lesson, because of cultural difference, then post to that lesson's thread, the challenge you are facing and I'm sure all the participants will be able to offer some solution.

Funny thing about the culture. My cousin came to visit, and she saw me strike up a conversation with a girl at a restaurant. Nothing outrageous... just a normal conversation. Now she's telling my relatives back in Egypt that I'm a player LOL!

Anyway, name's George. I'm Christian, but I've got a lot of Moslem friends.

MOTU,

I'm in. I am a late transfer student. I will do my best. I hope there's room in the class.

******************Idea***********************
I am not sure if this would be a go or not, but how about visual or examples of what some of the exercises convey. Case in point; on the eye exercise, how about if we had some kind of movie that has an example of what and how to do the eye exercise. Let's say on a movie such as Swinger's(Trent is walking in the casino and he walks up to the waitress, etc..). We could post the time, the scene selection on the movie so we can just cut to the chase. Is this something that is doable? Or will this take too much time on the syllabus for the homework?
