DJ Hobbies?

Hey ppl.

I was just wondering what hobbies all us DJ's take part in. It'd be interesting to hear what types of things you guys do with your spare time, especially it helps you meet women.

I am seriously pondering taking up acting somewhere (just for fun) but have no idea where to start. Also I enjoy chess, but how the hell can I join a club without feeling AFC? It seems chess=intelligent=nerd=afc to most young women? Golf is fun too

You asked so : I like martial arts and I like to party.

Also, cycling, is alot of fun... a few weeks ago I went rock climbing on a whim. The important thing is to have fun, if something interests you then try it. (Now to follow my own advice )

I suggest just trying things out. Join some clubs, take some weekend classes at a community college, its a good place to meet women.

I love travelling but that happens then i go back and do it so i don;t consider a hobby in the same sense.

I spend most of my free time playing drums and reading. I go to a decent amount of shows (concerts, but not big names. People tend to call a local band's concert a show.) Shows are good because hearing new music is fun, and its a good chance to meet girls.

Weight Training
Community College - And it IS a great place to meet ladies.

Playing poker with the boys
Meeting guys from different martial art systems to see if I can smack em'
Putting on the light sparring gloves and smacking my training partners around, and getting smacked around. Nothing gets the juices flowing more than taking a good shot in the grill...or handing one out as well.

* European Folk Lore - try telling a woman a funny/romantic Folk Story from your own culture some time instead of reciting a cheesy poem

* being busy and having a life - you meet lots of people this way and remain a challenge because they know you'll meet 10-15 new women next week and any of them could be interested in you

Reading, book stores are full of intelligent pretty women.
Dancing, having studied dance in my early 20's (flash dance time and staying alive) I evolved this into a way that kept me rolling in women for over 15 years. About 3 years ago I began working on developing "real" game since my knee's aren't what they used to be.

I don't care about what women think! My friends and I play chess really often; we're certainly candid about it! Most chicks don't even get chess, so when they see my friends and I calling eachother "****ing assreamer" and making for full-body checks (à la another passtime: hockey), their interests are certainly piqued.

But I find it difficult to envision myself not playing chess just because "chicks" think it's "nerdy"? Cf. my reponse here.

As for what I do, I...

1. ... read. Save Shakespeare, I read mostly non-fiction (but how fictitious is Shakespeare, really?). Philosophy, essays, poetry; all that good stuff.
2. ... study/learn. This is probably the reason I read only non-fiction, actually. I study languages, the mind, the body, cavemen, HTML (et al.), some literature, math (when I have the time and the energy), and a ton of philosophy. (Actually, I lump most non-fiction stuff I read in with my "philosophy" category—religious philosophy is in here, too; specifically Buddhism.) I gobble up all I can on the ethos of Naturalist Man, especially. (Cf. Walden by H.D. Thoreau)
3. ... hang out. I make an attempt to hang out with my friends as often as I can. Admittedly, though, I'm not always "in the mood," so I don't hang out with them as often as I'd like to.
4. ... write. I've taken a few tries at poetry, in the past, but my forte lies in "just writing." I write all the time, actually, just to stretch my abilities with languages.
5. ... jump around and stay generally active/healthy. I try to eat well (what kind of self-respecting Health & Fitness moderator wouldn't?!) and I lift weights off and on, keeping otherwise active with trying to figure out how to do a free-standing frontflip, amongst other things. I'm also about to start up swimming for my highschool.
6. ... play guitar. I don't do anything special with it—I "play guitar" in my school's jazz band, but that's pretty much it. Some days I'll not play at all, and some days I'll roll out of bed, grab my guitar, and play all day.

My life is fun
