I feel the MM forum are snipers on a rooftop the way they have the DJ forum by a long shot..
Since coming here, ive realized that the only advice i can really trust comes from the MM forum...
the dj forum seems to be to many ppl giving advice from theory not real life exp. and sometimes they 'sound crazy like an insanity plea'..

any experienced person browsing it can point it out pretty swiftly..

But im all about learning from experience rather than words from a website, but whenever ive been in a particular situation with a female(s) and relationships, the respected posters on there (joekerr, kontroller, jophil, rollo T) always seem to hit the nail dead on with a precision-like hammer...

just thought id convert my thoughts to a computer screen and share them

You're pretty much right. Get your advice from the MM, and post your advice in the DJ forum.

Well an older more experience person obviously has more knowledge about life than a teen who thinks he knows everything. When taking advice on the main forum, I would look at the posters age. Mature men will post their age because they have to if they want to post in the MM forum.

However its not a guarantee thats its going to be better, just another factor to use. At time, I respond idioticly in here to idiotic posts. However if your not being idiotic, you would see through that.

I'm all about getting to the core of the issue.
I want to address that.

This is where I feel the strength of the MM forum is really found.
Not necessarily "Should I be aloof? What do I say?" etc.

But if you want to post in the MM forum you do need to post your age, if not , the post will be moved back here.

Yeah overall The MM forum is the sh!t. I can think of a handful of threads on Plate Theories, Interest Levels and girls who Flakes that have such varying opinions and philosophies discussed and broken down that they hopefully will be archived soon enough so that others can post on it and it will get the attention it deserves.

The younger generations are learning from example so keep it up

Esoteric knowledge vs. exoteric knowledge. But usually its counterproductive to advertise esoteric knowledge, which is what this post is doing. Usually esoteric knowledge is distributed in such a way that potential "initiates" can self-select out of learning it, proving they are unready for the knowledge, allowing only those to enter who are ready to absorb what is being said. For this reason the DJ forum actually serves a very helpful purpose, particularly as SoSuave grows in numbers and gains a wider following.

I made a thread about "the people who dont post their age." If the advice is sound, then age doesn't really matter, but I am not as likely to listen to a teenager. Also, when I see that someone is older than me, I tend to give them an amount of respect, even if I dont always agree with what they say.

You need to put your age in your profile, not make it public. I refuse to make it public strictly out of privacy and honestly the age I put in my profile is only approximate; good enough to honestly satisfy the filtering criteria without nailing it down too much.

For those who care, I'm 40-50 and once married for 15+ years. I know a teeny bit about women. :)

You need to put your REAL age in your profile atleast. No way in hell were you born in 1910. :nono:

It just helps the MM mods know what posts can be there. Anyone is free to browse though.

The result of that math is over 40, and I'm over 40, and the rule is "must be over 40", so I figured there was no practical difference and it had a certain quiet humor to it. :)

no sir, the rule is "must be 25 yrs old"
has nothing about 40 in it.
when they see they born in 1910 thing, they assume you are joking and know it is not a real age.
because , what 88 yr old man , posts here?
i mean, WE LIKE OLD PEOPLE, but really... we are not aware of any senior citizens that actually know how to navigate online.
of course, if you were a senior citizen, we would love and accept it... but clearly you are young and vibrant and all that jazz.

hmmm. My experience has been the opposite. I've never liked it when one kind of group is isolated, in this case 'older' people. What you usually get is a bad case of group think. It's very apparent on some forums. For example, in a science forum, you will get a bunch of people who think the exact same way ("religion is baaadd!!!"). I always felt the key to learning is perspective, which is solely the ability to see things from different points of view. How can be that done if you take out a whole age group? I begin to question the value of the MM forum when I started to see some of the patterns of group think emerge (especially when it came to marriage and life in general).

What drew me to sosuave was the various kinds of people that came together for a common cause, which was dating and self-improvement. I liked reading posts where there were posters that never had schooling to posters that had college degrees and everything in between. Unfortunately, the MM forum and the continued ban on religion and politics has gotten me to seek other forums, and as a result, I post here much less now.

To each his own I guess. I know by posting this I probably pissed quite a few people off and I have no intention of doing that. These are my honest feelings towards it. Cheers to those who've learned from that forum. I barely even read it anymore. But hey, I still like the anything else and health and fitness forum so I'll try to stick around :)

I agree with Dongfu. I'm not much for asking advice on the DJ forums. Only here to lend what I can.

I prefer to get "advice" from guys I know are with it, and specialize in the area of my question. Over time, you get a feel for who you resonate with, and who might have a good perspective for you.
