DJ Bootcamp Week 1 (Summer 2005)

Hey guys. Glad to see you haven't given up on me! Well, I've had a fun week, busy as well. I was going to post all of this last night... but I ended up having a bit too much to drink, and I decided it was better wait until the morning.

My week1 did not quite have me feeling like I'm breaking out of my shell just yet. I found eye contact and hellos to be fairly natural, and I struck up quite a few conversations too. Most people were friendly, and would say hi back. Others seemed intimidated and would avert their eyes or look at the ground. Some people would follow up with small talk.

Unfortunately, I've found my town to be very lacking in the hot babe department. There is an overabundance of high schoolers, but virtually nobody in their early 20's. I ended up road tripping to get my hello's in with some beautiful women. I had an awesome week, admittedly inspired by the Bootcamp. I will write about it in my Xanga in a little bit. But, now, off to taking care of Week 2 - which I am definitely more excited about.

For those of you still going strong, don't worry about the people we've left behind. There's no room in this game for the people who lack the drive to keep working for what they want. Good job to anybody still going - but it's only week 2, so keep your eyes on the horizon!

GUYS WHO ARE STILL ON WEEK 1

I think anyone who's still on week 1 or just starting on week 1 should continue posting on this thread.

Stay with this thread until you "graduate" to week 2 then you have something to look forward to.

Yeah I think that's a very good idea. I will prolly end up doing that, since my vacation is gonna land in week 4 which sucks, so I'll have to extend week3 or whatever.

Kinda late but whatever...

Did Week I. I started my summer job at Shoprite around the same time I decided to do Week I. I usually used to just take their card and go about scanning but when I started Week I, I did the eye contact and "hi/how you doing" part of it. Today I went to Bestbuy, Target, and Circuit City (didn't get much done there) and did 2hrs of eye contact with everyone I saw.

I noticed how people are usually very shy. When I went out today, few actually kept the eye contact long enough for me to even say anything. But I did give some advice to this girl and her mother about iPods in Target before I came home. I have to hand it to the creator of Bootcamp. It's really is taking me out of my comfort zone.

Bring it on Week II!

Sorry about not updating for a LOOOOOOOOOONG time! I was partying so hard since thursday that, i wake up like at 2:30..laze around the pool till 5. And then start partyin from 10!. This has been my routine. I might have to extend week 1. Got in like 31 hi'...during "normal" hours/ conditions.

Do the HIs or convos during parties count?..coz if thats the case, i have been talking to so many girls after a few drinks that i prolly have easily had a tally of 25-30 during parties alone!

My head is spinning from all the drinks last night...i cant type anymore. Somebody let me know, if Party HIs count. If so, i move on to week 2/ else...extend week1.

IMPORTANT: I will do both week 1 and 2 parallel..so i will be posting in both threads till i finish week 1.(15 to go)
I dont know if talking and # closing can be part of week 1&2. But, i # closed on 2 girls yesterday night at a local bar/club. I got sick of sitting at home esp. after 3 nights of going out, it does get boring, if you just stop going out. So me and a couple of buddies went out, knowing that sunday nights are dead, but still..

The FR:

The place was really slow, when we went in, more so because it has 3 floors. We got in some drinks and were just chillin out. Later i suggested we do some bar hopping and maybe find something better. So off we went, but it was same everywhere. We came back, this time the people were coming in..mostly couples..not many single girls.

I was just standing watching people having fun..i was like Fk it!..and tried to see if they were any HBs alone. I found a table with 4 chicks fooling around. I would "normally" NEVER go, but since i was buzzin a little..just went up and said hi! They were like..huh.who is this guy? I fluffed around a lil' but, couldnt get the convo flowing..so i kind of bailed from there.

I then saw a HB8.5/9 and a HB6.5 sitting near the ledge in a corner and talkin.
Me: Hi! How are you guys doing tonight?
HB 8.5: Fine! How about you? (Shes got an accent..sounded European)
Me: Not bad!..for a sunday night!
HB8.5: Laughs!...this place is slow today.
Me: Tell me about it!..so are from Europe or something?
HB8.5: Yes, Luxembourg.
Me: Oh! wow..long way from home..whats the story?
HB6.5 Cuts in: Hey pass me you smoke (to HB8.5)
Me to 6.5: Hey how you doing..you got great hair..like goldie locks! (She had gorgeous golden blod hair..but was slightly chubby)
6.5: Laughs..oh thanks!..starts becoming interested.
Me: So what you girls upto?
They: Just having a drink...
8.5: You know you are brave!
Me: Whoah! Brave..for what?
8.5: You came and approached us! We have been having people standing next to us for 2-3 hours looking at us..doing nothing!
Me: Losers!.. (Me am RAFC..telling this! ha ha)
6.5: Yes..i dont know why they think we eat them up or something!
Me: They were prolly afraid, that you might kick them out !
At this point my buddy comes in..i intro him to them..
Me: alright we need to run..give me your #s...i will give you girls a call next week.
8.5: Punches in her# and name in my phone and says: This is the first time in U.S i am giving out a # in club to a guy..in almost a year!
Me: You got lucky then..you just met a great guy!
6.5: Punches in her # too.
Me: Put my arms around the 8.5 and hug her and leave..also shake 6.5s hands.

So, it was not bad going for a sunday night. I dont know, somehow i feel lot more natural having convo's with girls and talking..rather than just saying Hi. If i fell like talking, i just go up and startup..but if only wanted to say Hi..sometimes i just chicken out!
Moral of the story: DONT STAND THERE...GO AND TALK!...ELSE YOUR ARE CONSIDERED A "*****" by the girls!

Phoo...Finally finished off week 1. Total >62.

I kinda lost count, esp at parties when you meet so many people.

So yes, i should say i still have a problem while just saying "Hi" to any chick on the road, but School, Gymn, parties etc..its natural. I am trying to get myself loosened up a lil bit while on road.

ut convos, i saw have been natural to me, its the single "HI"s only, i still freak out..weird

damn sorry i havnt posted in abt 2 weeks i havnt had internet acccess, but i still kept up with week 1 when all you guys did it, i did my 50 hi's in the first week no problem


but i havnt had access to a computer even, and i couldnt remmeber what week 2 was, i thought it was to talk to strangers? i need to check i havnt had the chance

any ways the friday week 2 started, i went to the club with my 2 friends. and i told myself, i was going to dance (which i never never do) and talk to some girls, any ways i did both.

I talked to about 6 HB strangers

hb7.5: there was something going on, on stage in the club, XXX women dancing in corsets and stuff, and they pulled women up from the audience to dance around this guy they pulled up, any ways there was aload of HB cheering in the corner, so i went over and asked if that was there friend, and just talked with 1 of the HBs for a while after.

HB 8 (2) : i was stood talkin to my friends (i was real drunk was doin drinkin competitions) and 2 HB's walked past, so i just said hey, and they both turned around and walked back with big smiles, i talked to em for abt 30 seconds then i got disturbed by 1 of my friend and they went and stood about 10ft away from me, so i told 1 of my friends to come and talk to the HB blonde while i talk to the brunette, he said no though (because he didnt hav any balls) so i went and talked to both of em for about 5 minutes, i didnt get any number tho, i said i would catch up with em later, and i went back to my friends and they walked off to other side of club i think..

went back to talk to the group of girls i talked to before, talked to 2 another HBs from the group individually, including the HB who went up on the stage and she won a modelling contract or something from it, she was dancing infront of me lookin at me, doing all sexy moves haha, so i told her to come to me, and i started talking to her, shes was a HB 8.5-9, because she won the contest though she was gettin alot of guys talking to her, so it was difficult to hold her attention for longer that a few minutes but she came back and talked to me


went on the dance floor with 2 of my friends, and a HB pulled me aside and asked me to dance with her, she was only a HB 6 though so i danced with her for about 10 seconds then went back with my friends


any ways thats all i can remmeber from that friday i was smashed, i had to drink 3 pints of cider and 3 alcopops as fast as i could at 1 point in the night, i won did the lot in 57.5 seconds haha


this week i havnt had the chance to get out, havin our house completely done out so ive had to stay home to supervise the work men
