It is a biblical sin due to it's lustful nature in thinking of sexual fantasies with women in your mind. As a man thinketh so is he! Fornication of the mind -so to speak.

that's arguable, but I'm not overly convinced myself, and I know the Bible pretty well. I personally think that the arguments about lust don't mean that sexual desire or feeling is sinful. It's the overt desire to sleep with another man's wife which is considered "adultery" of the mind, similar to coveting someone else's goods with intent to steal.

At this time of the bible when a women is widowed, the brother is required to give the woman a child. Onan did not want to give her a child. Instead of being honest about this, he was treacherous and used withdrawal as a method of birth control.

I've already studied this from various sources, and you really have to hear all sides of that interpretation to make a balanced judgement. For example, if you take 11 Samuel 11 as an example, King David lusted on a neighbour's wife before she brought him in to commit adultery with her. According to what Jesus said, David's sin started when he started looking at her and allowed thoughts to ruminate in his mind and heart before taking it to the next step.

But here's the deal, he already knew that lady was another person's wife, and where it started becoming a sin is when he seriously entertained thoughts of committing adultery with her. He also had plenty of wives and concubines and had no reason to pick on a poor guy's only one wife.

That's a specific example of focusing on one particular woman in a coherent fantasy with an intent of committing adultery. Other than this particular example in the Bible, I cant find anything else to illustrate what Jesus is saying to help me interpret it in a balanced manner.

You have to make an insane stretch of arguement to apply that to every woman anywhere where you don't know if she's married or not. Or in the case of porn pics, where you'll never meet these people in real life anyway, so it's a moot point. Maybe you are just admiring a woman's beauty, and you are appreciating a natural art form.

Again, lust is hard to define. In my case, since I've never been with a woman, I don't see how I can lust on a woman since I've never been there, and thus am incapable of forming a coherent thought of 'how would this girl feel like in comparison to that girl', or "I wonder how she would be like in bed, I'd like to try her out', etc.. and actually start acting on that. However, that is not related to masturbation at all, and thus I dont see the relationship of masturbation and lust.

I don't think that's what it was referring to by 'controlling yourself', and dont think Paul as an Apostle would be doing anything of that sort and encouraging it in his letters.

Rather, if I think that what is permissible is something that may not be profitable, and that's written somewhere in the Bible. This principle means, masturbation may be vaguely permitted in some circumstances where it's helpful at preventing a more serious sin from occurring where the hormones are really out of control, but it's not spiritually profitable, or 'encouraged' to do so.

No, the Bible does not encourage or prohibit masturbating from what I read, unless I've missed something.
