Different Places To Meet Women

So I've decided to take some different avenues in my life after my divorce is finalized. I want to get back out there and meet women, but I think relying on the bar scene and online dating isn't worth my time. I'm wanting to venture out into new avenues. Here's some of my ideas:

Church: Women brought up with the values taught by the bible may be a good way to go, as long as she's not a fvcking die-hard zealot. I'm no longer religious nor believe in God, but the bible shows how women should behave. A woman with parents who made sure she was raised according to their faith may actually have some hope in this world full of feminism.

New Age Gatherings: I genuinely like hippy chicks (as long as they shave and bathe). They actually value self-improvement and cheap lifestyles. If she can make her own clothes instead of shopping for them, she's on my A list.

Volunteer Opportunities: This may be a good avenue to meet foreign women. I'd stay away from stuff like soup kitchens or comforting dying hospital patients. English education, tutoring, and event planning sound like winners to me. The bonus for volunteering is if you get enough under your belt, you can apply to become a Marriage Commissioner. In other words, you can make some cash marrying your AFC friends off!

No, just playin'. For you, Des, I'll give you some 'custom' stuff off the top of my head:

the wine/beer making supply store
the swap meet
Goodwill
local nurseries (the seed/plant kind, not kid kind)

I'm not kidding. APPROACH! Chicks are everywhere, so approach them everywhere.

Think of your future, though. If you imagine a gal in your future, what is she doing? ...and don't say, "giving me a bløwjob", either. What are YOU doing? If you think that way, not only will you go out and start enriching your life with learning necessary future skills, like a formal winemaking class of some sort, but you'll have exposure to new circles of friends to eventually draw datables from.

So, check out some posting-boards at places you frequent for open houses, workshops, and other opportunities to kill two birds with one stone: make yourself better, and perhaps make a new friend or two.

Like attracts like, so, go do what you like and look around. But, I understand your pressures, and that you've likely been a bit of a shut-in, so, start with yourself and work outward.

Make some opportunities out of what you have, then branch YOURSELF out, don't go to places simply because there are women there: you know that is having your head on backwards, DJ.

Go on one of those singles adventure days or do something like tough mudder. A wack of people get together and end up grouped up. Creates bonds as you have to work together on those siingles adventures etc.

Do what YOU like and find someone doing similar. Like skiing? Go skiing..find a ski bunny.. Like hiking? Find a popular trail and go do it.. Maybe run into someone to chat up.. Basicly go do shyt for YOU without intentions of trying to find chicks and you will find one. Like 4x4ing? Go join a 4x4 club and meet someone there and take her for a ride. Like motorcycles? Join a motor cycle club.. Etc. Just make sure the things your doing are public so there's chances of single women but don't do it just for single women.. Do it cuz your out to have fun and your vibe will be different and the women will pick up on that.

The bar and online is over rated..

That's what I normally do, but there's nothing spectacular about the women I meet. It's time for me to try something different.

Well, I can't comment on "church", but "new age" hippie chicks are found at wine/beer supply stores, nurseries, goodwill, etc.

I get things in the mail frequently about a local "school" sort of situation where courses are offered in areas like making cheese, raising chickens... hold on, it's on the desk around here somewhere.

Ah... here we go, it's billed as a "folk school". Basically, you cough up a little cash (for supplies mainly), and learn anything from woodworking, to carving spoons and bowls, to keeping bees, and making saurkraut (fermenting). There are a LOT of interesting classes to pick from.

There MUST be some sort of "folk school" opportunity to learn a craft up there by you. Often, these classes have different instructors, in different locations (typically, the instructors homestead).

There has to be more, that's a first grab. I googled: (location) folk school, and that's just the first that looked about right. Looks like some chick instructors, too.

If I were to be single again, I'd likely go that route. It would be one of the best ways to meet those "like-minded" folks: they'd have at least ONE similar interest, right? This way, you can have something to show for your time besides a hangover; you can learn a skill!

Edit: I just scrolled down through the courses... frickin' moccasin making?!!! Man, I've been needing some good moccasins. They just aren't around without a stupid pricetag... perhaps making custom ones is the only way to go. Hmmm... Hrrrmmmmm..... I do have an odd sized foot. Hmmm....
