hi all

This is my first post here, i've been lurking here for a while here trying to some tips for weight loss but i found out that weight loss methods are unique to everyone

Im 21 yo, height 182cm , weight 80kg, and 26% body fat .... i have been doing crunches and leg lifts at least 4 times a week and lift weights daily .... my body is ok but i still cant get rid of these goddamn love handles and those last few pounds around my belly

I dont mind talking my time to lose weight but if i can get rid of them within 1 or 2 month that would be great ...... like i said im a newbie but i think the problem is with my diet

Any help is appreciated thanks in advance

Here's a very basic diet plan that will work very effectively if you're patient enough and have the willpower to see it through.

First month - drop all high sugar foods and all simple carbs (white flour products, rice, bread, potatoes, cereals) and replace with complex carbs (wholemeal alternatives, brown rice, oatmeal).

Second Month - Reduce your carb meals to twice a day and eat no carbs 5 hours before bed.

Third Month - Reduce your carb meals to once per day at breakfast and have one day per week where you allow yourself 2 carb meals, just to keep your energy and mood up.

Fourth month - Stick to the above but add 15-20 minutes of cardio work (running, biking etc) 3 times per week.

If you follow this gradual cut it will stop you from plataeuing too soon, will keep your mood from crashing and will be much easier to handle than an extreme and sudden diet. It will also help burn fat rather than muscle, whereas sudden diets tend to shock your body and cause you to retain more fat.

Also, remember to eat plenty of protein to maintain your muscle during this time. Ideally you will work out with weights or at least do some bodyweight exercises that tax your muscles.

Drink lots of water too and cut out alcohol as best you can as it messes with your metabolism.

Obviously fruit has a lot of nutritional value, but when trying to drop weight it should be eaten in moderation. Nothing wrong with an apple a day or a couple of bananas a week, but don't make the common mistake of thinking fruit = heatlhy therefore I can eat as much as I want. Better to eat green vegetables as they have high nutritional value and less sugar. As you get to the tougher cutting stages you might want to cut the fruit down to a bare minimum.

I have to disagree with the previous comment and suggest avoiding fruit juices. Nutritionally they're very good (the ones without additives that is), but for fat loss, very bad! Although I do agree with his suggestion of Green Tea, water before meals and 5-6 small meals per day. It will speed up your metabolism.
