Did I miss a pick-up opportunity?

Hey guys - I've had enough with online dating and am aiming to improve my day game. I'm a decent looking guy and enough girls smile at me that there's no reason not to capitalize.

Tonight standing in line at a small grocery store, a very attractive thirty something tells me to jump ahead since I only have a few items. I smile, thank her and say "don't worry, I'll be quick". Realizing the sexual innuendo, I start smirking. She looks at me, says "Oh I'm sure you will be" and smiles. I just shake my head, smile and say "That's naughty". There was definitely a flirty vibe.

I didn't have the balls to take it further, and now I'm kicking myself for not chatting her up more while we waited. Did I miss a perfect opportunity? How should I have kept it going from there?

Would appreciate some advice so I don't stall out next time :trouble:

First of all OP, if you have to ask yourself that question, then the answer is 99 times out of 100: Yes. And don't worry about your "opportunity". Big deal, you saw a woman at the store and said 2 lines to her with sexual humor. You could've done that with ANYONE. In that case, every single woman you see walking on the street counts as an opportunity that you missed.

That woman driving down the intersecting road? Yeah, you missed that one. Every woman you are passing by when you walk past their house? Missing all those shots too.

Only advice I can give out is: don't worry about getting the number or whatever, just talk to her, gauge the interest, escalate (naughty jokes or kino) and see if she is a solid number.

You did great with the innuendo.

You don't need CONSTANT funny/firty stuff. You can alternate between flirty and fluff. You just did flirty, so you could have fluff talked, number closed, and then ended with something flirty.

Honestly, you could have said anything. Even "What's your name?" would have been ok.

For example:

HB: hahaha <from innuendo>

TS: So what your name?

HB: Julie and yours?

TS: I'm TS. I like shopping at night. There's no lines.

HB: yeah me too

TS: So Julie, I'd like to give you a call sometime.

HB: You want my number?

TS: Yeah

<Number close>

TS: You sure this a real number?

HB: Yes <smiles>

TS: Ok, well until you hear from me, TRY to be a GOOD GIRL, k?

But anyway, to answer you question, it MIGHT have been an opportunity. On the other hand, some older broads are all talk (flirt) with innuendo and no action. You wouldn't know for sure without trying.

Don't sweat it though. These "opportunites" pop up randomly when we are off-guard.
