As any 1 ever done this?

I am thinking about doing it, if I can do this I will feel better and i think then i will feel more confident in myself.

I've researched a little on the internet.

I'm thinking about doing it over 7 days.

Drinking only water and pure orange juice, and other natural juices. It says its best to do it when your on holiday or somethings. But i'm not going to be on vacation this year so I will have to do it in my normal schedule.

What light foods could I add so i wont feel as weak as just fluids for 7 days?

Eh.

Any doctor you talk to will tell you that the idea of "detox" is just a fad and has little scientific basis.

Most likely what will happen, is that you will feel so lousy while ur living on just water and juice...that when you start to eat normal again...the only reason you might feel refreshed is because you will be comparing it to how u felt when u were starving your body.

Just start eating healthier foods and exercising and u will be much healthier than if u did any detox.

It's all or nothing with you guys isn't it.

Firstly why do you feel the need to detox?

Anything more than 24hrs is extreme with what you are suggesting as you are really looking at a semi fast rather than a detox.

On the other hand, drinking lots of water, water based veggies, no meat or dairy etc for a week, will probably let your body and mind ease up.

Be prepared to have some acne as well.

I think the most important thing is to drink lots of water and cut out the junk (candy, McDonalds, etc...).

Drinking water is very important. You should try to drink so much that when you urinate, it's perfectly clear. It takes some effort to drink a gallon of water a day, but your body will be much happier.

Drinking too much water will put stress on the cardio vascular system this is fact. You should only drink when you are.....thirsty. I am have also heard that drinking too much water flushes out minerals from your system, I am not sure about that one, but be sure drinking too much water is not healthy.

Detoxing and fasting has no scientific ground to stand on and doctors will tell you it is not a good idea.

No, you should not wait until you are thirsty to drink. If you're thirsty, you're already dehydrated, which is BAD.

Drinking too much water is unhealthy? Well, I guess if you're shooting it up 24/7 and chugging water nonstop, yeah, it's unhealthy. But drinking 8 glasses of water a day will help you, not hurt you.

I second you on that. If you do any sports you will know this. I know it from cycling, where oyu must drink a bit every 10-15 min and if you fele thirsty its to late and your perforemance will drop.

This detox stuff IS BS toxins build up when you have lots of junk food nad ltos of procesed food and lots of alchole etc. If you have a healthy diet then your body is more then capable of flushing out all the toxins. Not eating for a week will only have negative effects and if you are even moderatly active and im talking like just have to do a lot of walking /busy scheduel, you will pass out before the end of the week.

What planet is this clown from???

People with no idea what they're talking about belong in the Discussion forum, not Health and Fitness where their guesswork could actually affect someone's health rather than just their ability to pick up chicks.

NO!

What he is referring to is when you overhydrate and it throws off the balance in your brain and CNS, and thins your blood. While this is true, and drinking water should be monitered rather than chugging gallon after gallon, you CANNOT wait until you are thirsty to drink at any point in any sport.

Like anything, too much is a bad idea, as is not enough.

Having 8 glasses of water a day at regular intervals is healthy. Drinking way more than that can actually give you water poisoning, which is murder on the kidneys.
Drinking way less causes dehydration which is also bad, for countless reasons.

The original poster said nothing about working out. And I stick by that if you are not working out drinking too much water will put stress on your cardio system and the kidney as someone mentioned. If you aint eating and drinking alot of water as the detox man said he would, you can also screw up the salt balance in your body as well which in the worst case scenario can kill you.

Just google "Drinking too much water" even when excersising you can drink too much water, it isnt healthy.

And please dont get rude, let's keep it civilized, if you can't stand different views leave the forum and kill yourself.
