Is not only anal-retentive, but in my opinion a clear case of retaliatory censorship over being vocally challenged.

The last time anyone posted to the last photo thread was in June of 2003. It was on page 6, which doesn't even show up on most people's forum due to the way preferences are set.

Seriously, if this type of moderation behavior continues this site is going to be an internet ghost town. I am not sure I want my ID name associated with this kind of nonsense. Is it possible for me to delete my posts from the DJ Bible?

You? No...

Mods? Yes

Are we gonna? If you really hate everyone that much that you would ruin it for the AFC's in the world meaning that you have no care or concern for the goal of this site, then we will.

We should just move the picture thread into the archive...

I see the most recent time that someone posted in the last photo thread as reading "11-18-2004" (discounting MindOverMatter's newest addition on 11-29-2004). Plus, it's not even like your thread was deleted. It was closed, and a friendly reminder was put in the response by Eternal that we do have a thread devoted to nothing but posting your picture(s) in... I think that you've blown this out of proportion entirely - if 6 pages of people have to post their pictures in one thread, what is it that makes you special enough so you can make your own thread and not expect it to be treated just like everybody else's?

Your thread wasn't deleted, just closed. Deal with it.

Here's a clue for you, Eternal...

1) My forum preferences are set to "default", and the thread you expected me to post to didn't even f@cking show up to me and probably didn't to most other people. It was on page 6.

2) I was the one who started the original photo thread...my concept, I should be able to start a second one because the thread you wanted me to post to is too freaking long and I happen to be on dialup, so the length of a thread impacts how long it takes to load.

3) I spent almost an hour of my time making the damn page to start that thread....and yes, I am irate that you locked it.

4) It was posted in AnythingFreakingElse, not the main forum or specific subject matter forum. You locked it because I disagreed vocally with the routine deletion of threads about online dating.

If a thread does NOT show up with the DEFAULT preferences of a forum then it's perfectly acceptable to start another thread of a similar nature...because no one is seeing the one on page freaking six.

Channel your excited feelings into positive thoughts and behaviors. You will attract women by being enthusiastic, radiating energy, and becoming someone who is fun to be around.

Oh for the love of Christ, Eternal...EVERY post on the front three pages of every forum would pull up tons of threads on the same subject using search. That argument holds absolutely no weight whatsoever.

The thread should NOT have been locked, especially since it was in the Anything Else Forum.

Good God women, you are making it out like I shot your dog or something! I just LOCKED a post when there was an active thread about it already. As diablo pointed out, the thread was STARTED a year and a half ago, with newer posts.

Next thing I know, you are gonna be on my *ss for deleting your "guess how old I am?" question in that thread since the thread clearly states "Post your pictures ONLY!" with comments by me and Paradox about ONLY posting PICTURES, not replies.

Also, you can change the little default thing so you can see older threads.

Okay, so you locked my "DJ Photo Challenge Part Deux" thread because there is a thread where you are ONLY allowed to post photos and not make any comments or talk about said photos?

Well, the original DJ Photo Challenge was NOT a thread for ONLY posting pictures. It was a thread for discussing the pictures as well. By your own admission, you wrongfully closed my thread. My intention was for a DISCUSSION about the photos, not simply the posting of them. Since the thread you directed to me does not allow for my intended purpose of the thread I started it is inappropriate to use to continue with MY desired topic.

In light of your acknowledged screw up, the only proper thing would be to unlock my thread post haste.

Allen...you need to have a word with your moderating staff. It's beginning to look a bit like Auschwitz around here...seriously.

Replies used to be allowed in it, but people got out of hand (see: flamed and posted pics of things that weren't themselves.) If you want people to talk to you, edit your post and say "PM me with comments" under your link.

Tell me...are you an arrogant pr*ck naturally or do you work at it? No wonder so many people hate you.

No, I will NOT use PMs.

Shannon, it was established a long time ago that people could post their photos on that thread but that commenting on someone's photo or anything like that wasn't allowed because of how the thread quickly devolved and turned into a personal insult-fest. I mean, it's not like it's a rule that was just invented for you. [/B]
Gio...you may be an arrogant pr*ck, but at least you're an IMPARTIAL one.

There wasn't a flame problem on the original DJ Photo Challenge. Anyone who attempted to start crap got slapped down quickly and decidedly. There's only problems like that when the members don't respect the moderators, and to be quite frank, I can see why they don't.

The key to being an effective forum moderator is to set your emotions and ego aside and be fair, impartial and strong. You don't do that by being trigger happy with the damn delete and lock buttons. Christ, I command more respect and act more like the "alpha male" than some of these moderators do. That's pretty sad seeing as I have tits!

By not allowing replies in the picture thread, we are keeping flames out. Does this not make sense to you?

No, it doesn't make sense to delete NON-FLAME posts. You don't stop flame wars by stifling all conversation. All that does is make people angry and MORE prone to arguing...kinda like what you're seeing right here.

If there are no replies, period, that kind of stifles flame wars. Hard to be mad at something that isn't there.

By stifiling all conversation there's nothing left to talk about...hence the flame war stops. Unless stupid people bring the topic back up...

Stifling all conversation leads to stagnation, failure to grow and the death of a forum. What you are doing is KILLING the site.

By keeping things clean in 1 thread, we are killing the site? You are blowing this way out of proportion.

No, I'm not blowing it out of proportion. The first thread I started was over 20 pages long and not once did a post ever have to be deleted. If there are bad behaved members of a forum, then you deal with those members instead of punishing EVERYONE for what a couple of people do. In the forum I ran and moderated by myself I had a special way of dealing with naughty people. I had a "Time Out" forum especially for that purpose. I gave three chances to modiify their behavior and if they didn't cool their jets they went in time out. Time out was having access to ONLY the "Time Out" forum, which was hidden from everyone else. They were free to rant as much as they felt like for 3 days without anyone else having to listen to it. After 3 days they were allowed to post again. If more than one person had to be put in time out, I would make a second Time Out forum so they couldn't keep each other company.

It worked like a charm.

There are better ways to deal with the naughty kids then punish EVERYONE.
