Ok fair enough Potbelly. Jesus is confirmed, what he did, isn't

jonwon, very interesting ideas. One thing I doubt is the microchip. While it is entirely possible, I really doubt it will ever get put into use. There would be sooo much outrage in America over the "Mark of the Beast." I really can't see it getting put into use.

Well if the world is going to end in 2012 then I got to have sex with lots of women by then if I want to make my goal of 100 :p

When you say idiotic things like that it just takes what was a completely respectable opinion and makes it look stupid. If you don't know what you're talking about why are you talking about it?

bigjohnson, are you angry because I made a little mistake? I admit I've never read the bible and never will. I like nonfiction better.

Anyways, stop being so negative man. I made 1 error and you focus on it. But I said 99001591 things right today you choose to ignore. :( not fair man. I don't think Jesus would like that.

Now that's funny. :)

How about "every time I do that baby Jesus cries"?

I don't mean to be negative, but when you say something like that it shows that you have a strong opinion about something you don't know anything about. You might as well write:

I have a very strong opinion about this, although in reality I have NO DAMN CLUE what it is I'm talking about
See how silly that looks?

Basically you are taking ON FAITH that the Bible cannot be true, which I find really funny given the overall subject matter. I could say things about books I've never read or places I've never been, too, but that would be really dumb, don't you think?

Anyway, take care and have a nice day.

Some people are concerned about computers in 2037, but that's probably overblown.

What are you talking about? I'm not basing this on faith. I'm basing it on common sense. I don't mean to offend you, but it just seems obvious to me that it's impossible the whole world was flooded and an old guy somehow fit a pair of each species in his ark. It's obvious it's impossible to part a sea with a staff. Ridiculous.

Wherever the Dong guides me, but mostly Hawaii
I listened to the living buddha speak about this.

He said in a few years the wars will escalate into a worldwide nuclear attack. Simultaneose nuclear explosions on the surface of the planet will stop the earth in its rotation for 50 days. One half of the planet dark all the time for 50 days. The earth starts spinning again on a new axis creating more like east/west poles. Where is dry now will be wet. Where it's cold now will be hot. The stress of the poll shift causes china to break off, as well as other continants, also causing new land to emerge from the ocean floor.

Only 25% of people living in rural areas who are self sustained will survive. Almost everyone living in major cities is fvcked. Your best chance is to move to ubaquai, if you can find that place.

Hey, any DJ's in ubaquai?

Actually, this is a very logical, possible outcome for our future the way things are going. I'm sure the likliness of this could be demonstrated by scientists. And after spending time with this living buddha, I would say I believed him.

I'll take my chances in Hawaii or brazil.

But, here's the great part. The buddha said that it will be the survivors responsibility to repopulate the planet. And there will be more women than men. One big fvck fest in the new paradise. WHo knows?

The micro-chip thing will be a snow ball effect.

first they state its for freedom (it always alice through the looking glass type fuc*ed up concept).
Then they state you would be best tying your financial assets in with it, i.e why carry a card around or cash when you can simply swipe you.
then laws will come into force, made by powerful elites who control the money to protect there investment through manipulation of chips, courts orders e.t.c will be created that allow certain individuals for there chips to be turned off or restricted to certain outlets.

The technology is here, people stick these tracking chips in there pets, the University where i work has some students modeling chips that recognize people for 'security' measures, where most of the students stated its a great idea.

The introduction of the chips will be bred from fear, ignorance and seperation from other cultures, fear what is by all accounts spread by the people who want to bag and tag you so they know what to sell you and keep you conforming with the state control.

Yes its a long way off, but i think your looking at the conclusion rather then the introduction, the first part will be subtle, to think its to protect your 'freedom' i guarantee this 100%, the evidence for this conclusion is all around.

Recent changes for the coming of the chip age, that have been seen by fascist state control:

Removal of privacy: Your phones can be monitored, your homes monitored e.t.c and you don’t even need to know about it, your rights have been stripped.

Surveillance is growing, London is the most surveillance place in the world right now.

Car tracking software, to track your miles and see how much tax you pay or where you go.

phone tracking data, supplied to over 700 organisations (recently came into force in the UK) including the gaming commission, your local council (UK, council tax office) They brought this into law through 'war on terror' wtf has the gaming commision got to do with war on terror? Its all about keeping tabs on YOU, nothing more nothing less. (for what, i dont know, i am not the fuc*ed up paranoid donkey who thinks this shi* up but i am a person who has to conform with these retarded fuc*ing rules regardless if i like it or not).

Add all this to a micro-chip in your left hand, the above is FACT it has HAPPENED, i dont know about you, but some people in power seem pretty focused on keeping tabs on us for some reason, maybe its do with money, but more and more we are being bagged tagged and tracked, if you like it or not, there not even GIVING you any say in it.

That’s REALITY not FICTION, prove me wrong!!! (general you).

Chips will happen its how you take em, sadly most people have ingrained prejudices against other cultures or are so spoon fed by there media they wont say anything when there chipped liked animals ready to be herded about at some whim of some money hungry power mad sociopath.

You may not see it yet, but trust me on this, is time you will remember what people have said and the chips are coming!

As for the other things I cant prove or disapprove of them, but I know the above conspiracy is proving to be very true indeed.

As for me taking the chip, i have no problems taking said chip what i have a problem with is being more of a puppet for a corrupt government that does not worry about lying to its people for the sake of 'controlling them' this is the problem, to take a chip to enhance my life; no problem but these chips will be a product of control, there being introduced or will be introduced through lies, deciet and i it is clear when your tagged they will have far more control over how they govern you. The chips are not the problem!

anyway leave this discussion here, lets not take this further, this is a good thread, political stuff will get it locked, its just my post was about the 2012 idea too.

I totally agree with Jonwon.

In Norway we have a sentralized government organization where ALL your personal information is collected (your income, marital status, how much you pay in taxes, where you work, your current living adress). You are forced by law to report any changes to that organization. Hook that up with GPS-surveilance and a micro-chip and you've got Big Brother monitoring your ass.

Furthermore, if you travel anywhere in Europe and check into a hotel, Interpol (or Europol) can pinpoint your location with the touch of a key. People don't realize how much the government monitors its citizens.

Soon, you'll be stopped in the streets by the police demanding "Your papers, Comrade!"

That's b*ll****. Pick up a history book. Jesus was well documented by the Romans. You don't have to believe he's the son of God, but you can't deny his existence anymore than you can deny that Mohammed or Buddha was a real living person.
This is actually not true. Early Grego-Roman writers often made reference to "early christains", but rarely was Jesus himself mentioned by them. I believe only Josephus made mention of him, and he only did so twice.

There are reputable historians who reject the authinticity of Jesus all-together.

And also, how come we only hear about Jeebus when he was born, then there is nothing about until he's 30ish and gets nailed on the cross?

Well, if you believe the historical parts of the Bible he pretty much kept quiet and tended to his carpentering business until he was about that age, so I suppose it was not that exciting a story? I personally believe the evidence supports the historical person Jesus. Several reasons.

First, he is mentioned by secular sources. Second, the new Christian faith was a major thorn in the Roman and Jewish government sides, yet none of them did the obvious thing. If his existence as a real person was not well known the logical thing to do would be a campaign to discredit the myth. So it seems likely, since this was never done, that the person Jesus did exist and was well known in the first century. Finally, if he was a fraud perpetuated by 12 men, why would they be willing to DIE to protect the fraud? Seems unlikely.

I agree those things seem silly, but how much do you really know about the claims made in the Bible? If you think people claim Jesus turned blood into wine I'm betting you have approximately zero first hand knowledge. You are doing the equivalent of offering a book review on War and Peace after skimming over the Sparks notes. Goofy.

Here's a quick hint or two: Jews are very particular about how blood is handled, it's sacred to them. They wouldn't have it around and if they did, they wouldn't taste it if someone told them it was wine anyway. To do so was punishable by death. So you see, it's not just that you made a little slip, but that the mistake reveals you have no clue about the book or the people involved, or any of the other context.

Not a huge thing but for me it completely discredits you as a reliable source on this subject.

EDIT: Sorry to sound like I'm attacking you personally, I don't mean it that way. I feel strongly about this sort of thing (false expertise) and I'm afraid it bleeds through sometimes.

/EDIT

All this is a sideshow to the original post.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

The world will not end in 2012. Here's why:

http://www.religioustolerance.org/end_wrl2.htm

Here's a small snippet:

1919: Meteorologist Albert Porta predicted that the conjunction of 6 planets would generate a magnetic current that would cause the sun to explode and engulf the earth on DEC-17.
1936: Herbert W Armstrong, founder of the Worldwide Church of God, predicted that the Day of the Lord would happen sometime in 1936. When the prediction failed, he made a new estimate: 1975.
1940 or 1941: A Bible teacher from Australia, Leonard Sale-Harrison, held a series of prophesy conferences across North America in the 1930's. He predicted that the end of the world would happen in 1940 or 1941. 7
1948: During this year, the state of Israel was founded. Some Christians believed that this event was the final prerequisite for the second coming of Jesus. Various end of the world predictions were made in the range 1888 to 2048.
1953-AUG: David Davidson wrote a book titled "The Great Pyramid, Its Divine Message". In it, he predicted that the world would end in 1953-AUG.
1957-APR: The Watchtower magazine quoted 6 a pastor from California, Mihran Ask, as saying in 1957-JAN that "Sometime between April 16 and 23, 1957, Armageddon will sweep the world! Millions of persons will perish in its flames and the land will be scorched.'
1959: The Branch Davidians of Waco TX believed that they would be killed, resurrected and transferred to heaven by APR-22.

Blah, I have no faith in doomsday predictions. Nostradamus and all others like him are hyped up. It's all about statistics. After a a couple of six-packs of beer (or absinth), I'm sure that I could spew down a couple of lines with vague predictions, and in about 300 years they will most likely occur.

That is indeed the key. What the hell good is a prediction if it's so vague you only know about what it pretends to predict AFTER the fact? If you want to convince me predict something BEFORE it happens clearly enough that I can be watching for it.

I'll agree with both you and Jonwon. Scary stuff. Here in the US, I just got my new passport about a month ago. Apparantly, our passports are now electronic, ie have some electronic device installed. I have no reason why, other than if there was a possible gps chip installed so the government can track us via our passports. They claim it's to make going through customs, etc, "easier", but I call BS on that one.

I know most, if not all cellphones, have built in gps units as well. I would wager that our government can track us via our cellphones already.

Oh, and in 2012, all our built-in microchips will explode due to some glitch in the tracking system, or a hacker, thus wiping out humanity as we know it.

Actually it's just an RFID, but that's just as dumb. Why would we WANT our passport data retrievable via a non-contact means like RFID? That's just a security hole waiting to be exploited.
