Is it possible to improve in the deadlift if you only do it once every 2 weeks and you're a beginner? (Weigh 180 lbs, deadlifting 320 lbs x 5 reps currently). What would be the best rep/set scheme to use in this case? How long could progress be sustained at this rate before deadlifting more often becomes necessary?

If you got the form down, yes you could do them once every 2 weeks. Try alternating them with powercleans. Good exercise for power, helps the deadlift.

Doing good mornings and heavy heavy heavy abs is helping my deadlift a bunch. I'm trying to do some glute-ham raises too but those things are damn hard without the machine.

Did situps with a 115 lb dumbbell (3x10) on my chest yesterday :). I've been able to consistently go up 5 lbs on that starting at about 65 for weeks on end. It was pretty surprising, and I don't see an end in sight, although I think i'll have to change to a decline or incline situp (which makes it harder for abs?) because I'm running out of bigger dumbbells to use and my ribcage is starting to not appreciate holding that much weight on it.
