For summer, I plan on doing something a little unique. Since high school is over, the next big thing is college. Before then, I want to improve myself. I feel that I need to cut off contacts with all my friends, and explore my surroundings. Get a job, meet new people, learn to not depend on my friends, etc. I know i can do all those while keeping in touch with my friends, but i feel like it won't be the same. I need to do this on my own with nothing holding me back. Do you guys think its justifyable?

Why would you completely cut off your friends? Unless they are really bringing you down, like they are drug addicts or something, then that seems a little extreme. What happens if you want them back?

Sure go for it. Do what you need to do to be happy. Your friends will still be there after the summer. Just don't be rude to your friends and it will be fine.

college is a chance for new beginnings. Do a "houdini" change your address, phone number, and email, and start fresh. Who gives a flying f*ck about your HS friends. They're history now!

thats extreme, but everyone loses contact w/ 75% of their hs friends after fall rolls around.

I cut off all contact with my high school "friends" when I graduated and started a brand new life. I started making money off websites, joined the gym (still going strong) and made new friends in college.

Haven't looked back since.

Yes, temporarly of course. To be honest, I did meet up with my old high school buddies a year after cutting off contact with them... they kept telling me how I changed, how good I look, etc.

As for the matter on how to make money off websites... that's a whole different topic, one that cannot be explained on a forum or within a small time frame. You got to do a lot of reading, practicing, research, designing, etc...

Thoroughly recommend it. If you feel the need tell your GOOD friends that you're going away for a while, just so they don't feel sh*tty when you arrive back. In saying that, I've always maintained that your true friends will always welcome you back no matter how much time has gone by.

Be strong, cut ALL contact, no phone calls, nothing... The true test of a man is his composure and resilience under difficult circumstances in foreign territory. It will test your ability to relate to people. Become a man of mystery, you will eventually return (that's if you actually want to) a more interesting person. Haha everyone loves the stories the wanderer has to tell...
