So there is this coworker I want to take out and today overheard her conversation with another female friend. She mentions it is not a romantic date and that she is just going to randomly ask him what is he doing friday night. Kind of ruined my plans for asking out because it seems like she is pursuing someone else. Any advice on the situation? Should I still ask her out? I just dont want it to be weird if she is dating someone else and we work together.

Thats a tricky situation. Personally I never approach a girl and ask her out unless Im getting some IOIs and have some indication that shes interested in me. In this situation shes interested in someone else. if you are not the senstive type subject to your feeling getting hurt you can go ahead and give it a shot but with the reasonable expectation that she will say no or give you the LJBF.

She told me via instant message when will I be at work because they miss seeing me around the office. She complimented my new hairstyle. On certain days she comes to my cube and starts a discussion. Not sure if she is just super nice or what but I was thinking about just asking her what shes doing on the weekend and if she wants to do something.

You should keep things professional, but you can still be friendly with her and see how she responds. Since it is at your workplace, she better be really, REALLY into you, or it's not worth dipping the pen in the ink. Also be very wary of ANY red flags.

I dated a girl at my work and it became a daily living nightmare once things went sour. Trust me, it's no fun and not healthy to have to work with an EX.

You're better off improving your game so that you don't need to resort to dating a chick at your workplace.

Can you specify the red flags I should be looking for? Like my game plan was just to straight up:

Scenario 1
ME: hey hows it going?
her: ---------
ME: do you have any plans on saturday?
her: no why?
ME: i have tickets to go see ....... wanted to know if you wanted to go?
her: sure...

Scenario 2
ME: hey hows it going?
her: ---------
ME: do you have any plans on saturday?
her: yes why?
ME: i have tickets to go see ....... wanted to know if you want to go?
her: sorry cant go
ME: no problem maybe next time

How about option C - don't date your co-workers. If things go well, it's a little office conspiracy for a while but when you break up it's awkward as f*ck and can cause major problems. Guys get fired over sh*t like that all the time. I would only do it if it is a low level job you don't care much about anyway. Dude I've been there and she still works here. I'm at a higher level then her and it could have gotten my a$$ fired based on how HR sees that kind of sh*t.

Good advice. Also beware of lawsuits. Chicks have the advantage with those, and since they cannot be trusted, do you really want to make yourself vulnerable to that bulls#it?

As far as red flags go- ANYTHING that could possibly be considered a red flag, you've got to forget about this chick.... she has to be absolutely perfect and doing all of the work for you for it to be worth it (hint- this is not likely). Unless it is a low level job, then fu** it, just bang her.

If you had better game and hence better options, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Don't do it.

This is not just say to follow a straight and narrow rule, don't crap where you eat.

I'm saying while it is possible, and you can meet someone great. Don't do it, it's no longer safe. Maybe back in the day before the feminazi movement.
