You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

"Asking somebody out" is probably the stupidest idea I have heard. I have a friend who is a complete AFC, and even though we are seniors in high school, he thinks it's still appropriate to ask someone to e your girlfriend.
This past week, after homecoming, his date slept over at his house, along with a few other people. After a night of snuggling, he woke up in the morning, bought her roses, and asked her to be his girlfriend by singing to her.
Frankly, that was the most pathetic thing I have ever heard.
