Bridging the Gap Between Knowledge & Action:
Just watched the movie "What the bleep do we know" the other day. For those who aren't familiar with the movie, it's about quantum physics and a theory that essentially tells us thoughts are no different than matter (material objects). Basically it tells us we are all continually creating our own reality every instant on the foundation of preconceived notions of what is and isn't possible. Anyway if you want to know more check out the movie or the website for it (google it..).
The specific notion I wanted to mention that I found interesting and pertinent to us DJers is the "pre game" ritual one of the experts does everyday when he first wakes up. Essentially he sits up in bed, closes his eyes and in his mind creates/visualizes how he wants his day to proceed. He swears by it. Anecdotal...Yes. But it is well known elite athletes as well as many other successful people use visualization to attain maximum results for whatever endeavor the technique is applied to. Stephen Covey (author of "Seven Habits of Highly effective people") discussion this in his books thoroughly. He refers to it as beginning with the end in mind.
Each Success is predicated on it being created twice. First in the mind (via visualization) and then in reality (via execution). Anyway I've thrown myself into the available literature on women (The DJ Bible, Senor Finger's E-book, DYD, Ross Jefferies, ect.) and if you guys are anything like me the hardest part here is taking this knowledge from the classroom (this forum, books, tapes, whereever) to the field.
If you've been here for any amount of time (say more than a week) you essentially know enough to already start increasing your success with women, it's a matter of disinhibiting yourself and prepartion.
So I am going to use myself as a ginuea pig for this hypothesis. Whether it be Kino, C + F, the basic principles of not being an AFC, or whatever I feel this could be a useful tool in bridging the gap between knowledge of what one should do and actually doing it.
As I've seen posted her by several of the more experienced guys, you can pour over these posts and this information until you have it memorized verbatim but if there is no application of that knowledge what was it all for anyway? So I'll be sure to try and update everyone on how this goes for me as much as possible.
Note:And just to reassure those in doubt that I'm just talking out my ass I will reveal that I am a fourth year Social Psychology Major at Colorado University. Some of what you read on these forums is bs, but from a person who main area of interest is interpersonal relationships, most of the advice here is solid. When you see conflicting advice/information here don't fret about it. Pick your poison and remember that cornerstone of dealing with people and especially women is having a coherent and consistent frame from which you operate from. And from this heirarchal reality lesser methods or techniques can easily be overshadowed. Hope someone derives some benefit from all this ranting.
