The beauty of America used to be that a man or woman was free to work as hard as they want and make themselves something. It paid to be the biggest, fastest, smartest...hardest worker in the room! Now... if you succeed they will tax you... and give it to people who chose to do nothing!

I have nothing against a true social assistance program. If you hard on your luck... if your handicapped... sure I have no problem helping out.. but I see bums I went to Highschool with... that pursued advanced degrees in ridiculous fiends such as theology or philosophy.... have hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans... and just whine and complain about how socialism is better. These people are breaking our country. There will be a civil war but... it should be the freedom loving Americans versus the goofs crying for socialism and communism but instead the narrative they are pushing is a race war.

Although it must be said (IMO) that there is hate like I've never seen before. As the resident old timer here, Army 1977-78-79 lots of blacks and zero hate. We were brothers for the most part. There were moronic idiot blacks and moronic idiot whites, but I do NOT remember the blatant hate I witness today.

My parents moved down to Florida to retire recently from the Northeast. I went down there to visit them and half of the city they live in were recently from up North and upon meeting a lot of new people down there, they all stated off the bat that they needed to get out of The cities in the North East and I don’t blame them (I’m still living in the Northeast). When I went down there everyone is overly courteous, and they seem to genuinely care about each other, even if your a stranger, to an extent. Everyone up here is just wound up so tight it’s crazy. If you look at someone the wrong way it’s considered confrontational in most cases. The values of this country are becoming very pitiful in my opinion and it seems there only going to amplify. It’s gonna take a long time for everyone to look back to this era and just shake their heads, if at all that happens.

Any reparations IMO is a handout. You may disagree and that's fine. I would also like to say that I'm not white and a minority that has faced discrimination of the worst kind, pre-internet without any kind of support groups or assistance or rules in place like you have now. It has strengthened me, made me be at peace, forgive, and allowed me to move forward. What's happened in the past isn't right or anything to be proud of but it also was a different time and that's what people need to realize.
I'm sick and tired of the younger generation trying to retrofit everything into what has happened in the past. Cancel culture, removing things from books, media, tv, removing statues, demanding some kind of repayment, etc. No, I don't believe that is a solution to anything.

That's my stance on it. You may have a different stance and that's ok. I'm not trying to change you and you are entitled to your views too.
