Crashed my z3 yesterday...

i crashed my beutiful bmw z3 yesterday on my lunch break at work. it was pouring outside and there was this guy waiting at the door...he said "im going to wait till the rain lets up and then then going to my car" then i just said fvck it and ran out to my car but still got soakin wet. im on the street and my windshield is little fogged up ...(why i didnt put on the defroster i dont know) and the next thing i know this bar in front of me hits the breaks and i try to hit mine put its too late... my car had slid and hit their back bumper! i got out to check my damage and my bumper and hood is fvcked!

so then i ask the lady "are you ok?" she said "im ok, i dont know about you..." (as she points to my car) there was no damage to her car but hella on mine. she then she gets in her car and i assume is letting me off and driving aaway so i drive myself back to work...next thing i know, my dad calls me saying if i was in a hit and run today...i was like "no...why i was involved in an accident though...i was going to tell you but you didnt pick up your phone" so he says theres this cop calling him telling him i was...and then i call the cop and explained my side...he came to my work and talked to me and then he said the lady didnt jump in her car to let you go...she went in to get a jacket.

so then the cop understands the miscommunication between us and then says hell just write it off as a regular traffic accident.

so now my cars fvcked...gotta go take it to the shop in a few days to get it repaired. damn... i loved that car too!! that was my baby. now its gotta have aftermarket parts put on there...dammit! WHY DID I HAVE TO DRIVE WHEN IT WAS POURING!?!? the funny thing is before i even walked out my work place...one of my friends says that cant he go on his 10 first to take a smopke...then i was like nah cuz i already clocked out.. dammit if i would have just waited 10 mins this probably might have never happened. now my insurqance is going to go up hella because i had a lot of points on my record and traffic accidents...i think i have 5 right now...now its 6. hopefully they dont suspend my license again...i think i got a notice in the mail last year saying that if i got in another accident or ticket that it would be suspended.

any advice/comments??

Some thing are worth taking a chance on, others aren't (depending on the person). Which are which? No way to tell without experience. Live, learn, adjust, live some more.

All you can do is get your car fixed, dwelling on the accident would be a waste of time. Learn what made you go beyond your limit, understand it and make it work for you instead of against you next time.

Don't you have to.. by law.. call police saying there was an accident? Well... in the US?

Not necessarily... only if you want to get the insurance companies involved. It's always wise to get the police to the scene regardless. If you end up filling out a police report, often you will also get points on your license and a fine. Sometimes people just avoid it.

I feel your pain man, I crashed a Lexus IS300 about a year and a half ago, didn't total the car, but did some significant amount of damage (to the tune of 12,000 dollars). You are going to feel pretty depressed for the next couple of days, but you will get through it. Keep your head up and try hard not to let it get you down. You may want to think about reporting it to the insurance as imported parts are going to be expensive, even after market ones. Good Luck.

If you've got enough money to blow an immense wad on a shiny new BMW you have no right to complain about anything material, even totalling the damned thing. Try living on canned beans for two months so you can afford a beat-up old Honda.

i juist want to say thanks for all the support. I have been depressed for the last couple of days and now all i want is to get the car fixed back to how it was. its 6:53am right now when i am typing this... i cant sleep...all i can think about is my car really and waiting for the body shops to open so i can get estimates/repairs.

I was thinking about getting that or the benz C class.

Sucks about your car but you were driving a sports car in the rain and obviously tailing someone too close. Any old Corvette owner will tell you what would have happened.

i just crashed a honda civic. i know its not a nice car, but it still affected my thoughts and sleeping pattern too. the day i got into an accident was the day after this girl i know DIED from one. let us all just be glad that we are alive. cars can be repaired or be bought. insurance goes up and down. yeh i know it is annoying since you have a z3 and it's expensive to repair, but still try to be thankful that it wasnt that bad of a crash. because your LIFE is more important than a z3. next time, just don't tail anyone in the rain, thats all. after each accident, just think of how your going to be a 10x better driver since you dont wanna **** up your car=]
