Why don't you walk up to her, look her straight in the eye with a cheeky grin and say... "So, what are we doing for Valentines day?"

You can pass it off as a joke but be bold and be strong until you see her reaction.

Thats also an interesting, yet good way to do it.... nice;)

I think hellboy nailed it. With the right attitiude it is probably the best way to go. If you do end up doing something on V day make sure it is nothing like what a girl would think a guy should do. Keep it very, very casual. Don't go anywhere you are likely to run into AFCs dressed as cupid or sporting candy boxes bigger then they are.

Adapt it to your style but I think C+F window shopping or a really off topic movie would be good ways to go. If things go really well, and you can do it in an ironic way, split a couple of those tiny cinnammon hearts with her. If irony isn't your style best to stay away from any mention of the day at all.

Another interesting angle - a few years ago a girl asked me to do something for Valentine's sucks day (celebrated the same day as V day) The days leading up to it we talked about the things one could do to protest V day. Great hilarious self writing convo. I found her more interesting and you'd find out if she was fun or a fat pink slab of tiresome romantic fluff.

Re:

If a woman responds to alphaness...and alphaness traits would be direct, unattached, and not care about the outcome...would it stand to be logical that a DIRECT question is better than beating around a bush?

Just a thought. Something that has worked was to be ****y, ballsy, and somewhat arrogant. But being direct is better than being a pvssy and beating around WHAT IT IS YOU WANT.
