Could be a coincidence, but I just can't help but think about this. Opinions please.

ok so im not one to believe in any supernatural crap or whatever else you wanna call it but heres the story:

i got out early from school because of some teachers' thing. we got out at 12:30. i had practice at 2:30 so i just waited in the stands in our gym until practice started. i was tired so i tried to take a little nap. my ex (we broke up 5 months ago) was waiting for her practice to start too so she comes and sits next to me. we started talking again about 2 months ago, but today was different. it wasn't just like "hey how's it going" and stuff like that. im not gonna go through the whole conversation, but after our conversation she was like "i miss you" and looked me in the eyes longer than usual. mind you she has a boyfriend. after she said that she took out her ipod and was like "wanna listen to some music?" and i said yea. i put on one ear bud and closed my eyes and tried to take a little nap again. she lays her head on my shoulder and plays the music. the very first song surprised me. it was about a guy being selfish to his girlfriend and the girlfriend stayed with him anyway. the song said the girl stayed with the guy because she loved him, but soon broke up because she couldn't take the selfishness anymore. that was the exact reason why we broke up. then the next 3 songs again were about reasons why we broke up. the next 4 songs after that were about a girl crushing on or loving a boy. after the last of those 4 songs i had to go to practice. i told her i had to go and she looked at me and gave me a hug. it wasn't some goodbye hug that she usually gives me. it just felt different. i thought about all this crap through practice.

heres where the supernatural or whatever you wanna call it part comes up. for some odd reason, i went on the computer and checked my horoscope. again, i don't believe in this crap, but it seems like more than a coincidence. the horoscope said "a love from your past will come back to you today, and the sparks will still be there"

i just stared at that and in my head i was like "no fvcking way"

about 10 minutes before i came to post this, she texted me asking if she wanted to get lunch tomorrow. again, she has a boyfriend and he's the really jealous type but she asked anyway.

i know probably everyone reading this is like "this guy is such an AFC. he needs to get over this girl. blah blah blah" i was just really surprised that she acted that way today and for some very odd reason i just looked at my horoscope and it said that. i never check my horoscope. ever. but for some reason i did today and it said a love was coming back today and the sparks would still be there.

sorry for the long rant. i just had to get that out there. thoughts?

It doesn't matter if the cosmic stuff is true, because all mainstream horoscope readings don't use any cosmic or astronomical data. Therefore, in your case, the question isn't whether or not actual astrology is true (because there is no real astrology at play in the horoscope you read), it is whether you believe the machine that generated the random reading can truly predict your future. The answer is no.

Horoscopes are BS. The alignments of planets and stars who have absolutely no physical way of affecting our lives because of their distance have no possible way of affecting our lives. Unless, of course, you get distracted by a shooting star and get into a car accident after reading a fortune cookie that said "Brace yourself for a sudden change" after you went out for Chinese. That would just be your dumb ass getting distracted lol

What they do is throw out a bunch of random predictions for your day that you read, and when one of the happens, you tend to forget the other predictions and focus on the one that it hit on. The predictions are also very vague and can be applied to anyone, anytime, in any situation. What else did your horoscope say for that day? Also, people who read their horoscopes can sometimes tend to set up situations where they try to make their horoscope true, creating a false self-fulfilling prophecy.

Read "Unweaving the Rainbow" by Richard Dawkins. That'll show you some sense lol

Horoscopes are complete fabrications. Notice how the predictions are vague, almost cookie cutter, so they apply to everyone. To prove this, all you have to do is read the entire horoscope for that day. Notice how all the predictions apply to you, even though you were not born under that sign?

Here's something off the top of my head:
"Today something important will happen to you"
"Something you have forgotten about will be made relevant again"
"Someone from your past will reach out to you"
"You will meet someone, you feel as if you have always known them"

Now as far as the whole iPod. Its called a pre-made playlist. She put some songs on her iPod, made a playlist and when you put it in your ear she clicked "Play". Very smart on her part. She is playing your emotions. Music is very effective. I should use this...

Maybe she wants to get back together, maybe she wants some attention, maybe she's getting kicks out of this. You know her best to make this judgment.

i never read horoscopes. ever. i didnt read it before it happened either. i went home thinking about today and for some odd reason i went on the computer and looked at my horoscope. no idea why i did that. when i read it i was like "that's exactly how my day went"

besides the horoscope, what do you think she was trying to get across? does she want friendship again? we were VERY close before we started dating. i can't explain to you how close we were. or does she want more? she has a bf at the moment. she knew him before me and they were close before they started dating too. i just find it odd the way she acted today and the songs she chose to play out of the hundreds on her ipod. and no they're not all love songs. i know for a fact that most of the music on her ipod are club songs. she just decided to pick songs that talked about the same exact reasons why we broke up and songs that talked about a girl loving a guy. then for some stupid reason i decided to look at my horoscope when i got home and it said what it said. weird day today.

im not gonna lie either. i dont care how afc i seem. i want her back. it was completely my fault we broke up. i was a selfish, controlling, jealous bastard. i changed now and i know she sees that.

now most of you are gonna say "dude she's playing you" and all that other stuff.

believe me when i say this, she's not that type of girl.

i KNOW that A LOT of guys think a girl is "the one" because she's just so different. i KNOW the fact is, every girl is the same. it's just the interest level a girl has for a guy that makes her act different towards him that makes him think she's perfect.

but it's not that. i can't explain it. she's just not the player type. im not gonna go through it all, but she has problems at home. she was depressed freshman year and sometimes still gets really sad to this day.

most of you are gonna say shes not worth my time, shes a loser, shes a burden, and any other thing. i dont care

it's really hard because we're so close. we're seniors in high school and i know hs relationships don't usually last. a lot of you are gonna say it's not possible to be so close with a girl. i have oneitis for her. blah blah blah.

maybe you're right. the only thing i know for sure is im not gonna be afc and focus my attention on her. i have a few prospects, but the fact is i want her back.

about the ipod, she didn't make a playlist. i saw her specifically pick each song

You keep on saying how close you two were. Exactly how close? Did you ever have sex? Your making it seem like you two NEED each other to live.

And my opinion on all this is that shes just testing you. She wants to see if you still care about her and shes testing to see your reactions when she warms up to you. Dont let yourself fall into all that sh*t.

And your saying your NOT going to be an afc yet you want her back? That makes no sense. You need to get rid of this oneitis and move on to your prospects.
