is the figure that I've seen tossed around, but they wont take you, typically, until you've had 3-4 years of infantry expericence in the Army or the Marines. Still, 150k can retire you in the USA, if you know how to invest it, and you should have saved another 30k in those 3-4 military years, too. It's something that a lot of high school guys should consider, for sure. The GI bill will pay for your college, too, to a certain extent, at least.

Depends on the person.

Talked to some guys who have done sanctioned/sponsored/ordered killings.

It affects everyone differently. Some people have no problem with it, others get PTSD and suicide a few months later.

I am a military guy would you be willing to kill your own guys? As in your fellow countrymen and veterans? If so then this job would be for you theres no loyalty other than the dough. I did my four years active USAF and I am going guard in the USAF. If you do enlist remember this there are no guarantees in the military!

An M4 with an Eotec holographic site, Surefire lighting system, flip up iron sites and all the other goodies will run you over 2K.

Oh, and a subscription to Soldier of Fortune magazine I'd guess will be 20-30.00 bucks per year.

Just sayin'

I'm talking about Blackwater, or the equivalent, in Afghnistan. you won't be fighting US troops, you'll mostly be bored from sitting around guarding something. If you think a give situation is too risky, don't sign up for it, that's all. When you are in the military, refusing an assignment is going to get you sent to Leavenworth.

the military will issue you your rifle, etc, and you save your money while in there. the contractor will arm/equip you, too, it's usually not feasible for you to travel with such armament, not on commercial airlines. the contractor might bring over many of you at a time, on a leased jet, tho, so it's feasible that then you might bring your own gear.
