What is confidence Jdard?
Glad you asked sixties commercial kid!
(Self) Confidence is surety in ones own competence, the belief that ones facilities are adequate. It is the amount someone values their own true self, how at ease someone is with the figure dee inside.
Unlike courage, which is the ability for someone to overcome quick challenges (I can go up to that girl, I can!") in the face of fear, true core confidence is deep and long lasting. It entails elements of courage (you will probably have to pass through a stage where courage is what gets you through) and also persistence and relaxation.
Breaking it down.
Confidence is made up of: The ability to take action in the face of fear, then the ability to continue in the face of fear and finally the ability to grow comfortable outside of ones comfort zone. The skill of pushing to the point where a certain resistance is built to all the fear triggers which are not 'real'. Which is to say, do not impose any risk to physical well-being.
But wait, why do I even want confidence?
....
Let me see... It lets you do everything you want, it is the one quality that ALL (99.95%) women find attractive- actually, sincerity is, which itself is a presentation of confidence. Sincerity is the ability for someone to show their true values, emotions and intent without fear of judgement or negativity, because on some level they realise all people are equal.
How do you build confidence?
Confidence is built through belief and action, in a cycle where one leads to the other indefinitely. There is no limit to the amount to permanent confidence that can be built.
The first step to building confidence is to believe your are confident enough to do what you want to right now. The next step is to do what you want right now. The continues, ad infinitum, with you living in the moment going for what you really, really, want.
But what about consequences?
Are they even real? Many consequences are all in your head and don't matter in the scheme of things. If they do, then choose whether what you want is worth it. If it isn't, then what you want isn't really what you want then.
Let me elaborate: If you want to walk out of school because your teacher is blatantly and aggressively being douchetacular, but do not want the consequences of being suspended for a couple of days, make the choice...
You choose not to? That is what you want. You choose too? That is what you want.
Believe in what you want, whatever that may be, regardless of what others think. It is all about your intent.
In conclusion
Confidence is made up of:
The ability to follow through intent
Feel positive and/or relaxed internally
And be sincere with oneself and others!
Finally:
Confidence is not real. It is NOT a physical quality or something that actually exists on any sort of visible level. It is a representation of something, but in itself is nothing. The only real quantity of confidence is that you believe you have it. Believe in yourself.
Confidence is NOT being a d1ck. Jerks are confident sometimes, but the confident are not always jerks.
