cold approach in australia :)

so i just moved to australia (brisbane) a cpl mths back...going to uni here. man...girls here are so uptight compared to back in the US...i was in san fran for a while..success rate on cold approaches there was like 65%...and in miami its like 90%...with them cute latinas

success rate here in brisbane..is like 33% yo!! so far i've gone up to 3 girls (cold approaches)...

1. got # and close (hb7)
2. i'm single but i'm in a rush for job interview so bye (hb8)
3. i have a boyfriend but see ya around (hb7.5)

i read the other thread about aussie chicks and what works and doesn't work here...its very unrealistic to think that the only approach that'll work here is thru friends...thats only good for someone who was brought up here. yea i have a big group of friends but even they're in the same boat...they'll all from outside australia....girls here are a lil rude too compared to back in the US...anyways...and what the hell is up with txt msging here...a phone is used to TALK! cheez...

i'm just venting though...but i'm gonna keep them cold approaches going...bound to meet someone i find girls in clubs are more receptive than when u approach them on the streets randomly...

anyone have similar experiences?

I think there should be a separate category for Australia because what works here is different than what works in the states.

I am the same as you in that I arrived to a new australian coty (albiet from one Australian city to the other). I found it difficult at first until I made friends. However, the advantage you have is that you are part of a university crowd and over time you will make friends and meet new people.

As for cold approaches, they can work in australia but your hit rate is a lot lower to the point where it is not worth bothering; unless at bars.

Most of my cold approaches that work are with tourists and newcomers.

another suggestion is that you can always use the internet to meet girls.

Yeah I have travelled the world, and I have to agree, Australia SUCKS!! hahaah, in Italy it was an absolute breeze. In London, the girls picked up me!! In France, easy too. In the US, FUKCING EASY!! I was there for 2 weeks and was approached about 7-8 times, haha. Here in OZ it is much harder. A lot of better looking dudes I think. Plus the woman are a bit less open to contact with strangers.

Just stick with it, its still just a numbers game, there are some great woman here, some VERY HOT woman here, and some really nice open SINGLE woman here. Just take it easy, make sure you get all the signs, eye contact, smile etc before you approach.

Dude, of course it is easier overseas. You have an accent and you are different. So that gives you a bit of exotic factor. Also chicks are more open to you because if they do anything with you, others are not likely to find out.

Ask anyone from overseas and they will tell you that their home country is the hardest place to PU, and everywhere else is easier.

yeah I got your point. Probably. I still pick up a LOT of woman here, but overseas it seems nearly 100% guarantee. meh, anyways, not to worry, simple point is, there are ALWAYS girls available wherever you go.

glad to see so many ppl in the same boat i have a thing for 'coloured' women (latinas, african americans)...and u don't see too many of them around here...hmm...but they have a cpl cuties but yea...i'm gonna keep them cold approaches comin. whether it works or not...at least it'll keep me amused...uni is definitely an adv to me. the 3 cold approaches so far have been off campus..i'm going to do this on campus and see whether there's much difference in the response.

I go to QUT...the 3 cold approaches...both were around central station..havent had a go at the Queen street mall yet... i know 3 girls only..i'm not grouping all aussie girls but just saying its been a bad start... no worries tho nothing i can't handle

Have you done any approaches at uni yet?

I was thinking about it but you can read what I wrote here for reasons why I am a little hesitant (cold approaches that is)..

As you know, at QUT the buildings are pretty close to each other and there are only a few paths that link from one building to another..

Also, are you going to live in Australia permanently or are you just studying around here?

btw--how do you rate the pool of chicks at QUT and Brisbane in general, compared to USA?

edit: Also where in the US did you live? The chicks look pretty good to me in California(sacremento,frisco)

update..

did 3 more cold approaches over the weekend!

4. this really hot latina HB9 dancing at sean paul's after party. she was too busy dancing so i slipped her my business card and she smiled and took it. earlier today, i noticed she added me to her MSN list...so to me..i'm not sure if this was a complete rejection or not...but close to it since i didn't get a #...

5. this cute white girl HB8 walkin and talking around with bunny ears at the club (something to do with easter around the corner)...met her outside when i went to get some fresh air. she lives like 2 hrs north of here (**** that) but got her # and closed

6. hot italian girl (HB8.5) lost her cell phone and will be getting her cell # deactivated and won't give her home # out to strangers. gave her my card anyway. this would be a rejection.

so...so far...success rate has been 2/6...or 3/6 depending on approach #4...not too bad. i'm having fun!
