hi,

i have been thinking what to get my girlfriend for christmas, and one of my friends mentioned maybe get her lingerie (bra and panties). at first, i thought it was a pretty good idea, its something personal (not something like electronics) and both of us would get some enjoyment out of it (i hope ). as far as sizing goes, i guess i could look through her underwear drawer...:woo:. i figure its better than purchasing something like jewelry. what are peoples thoughts on the lingerie idea?

well i have no problem going to the store to buy condoms (it shows that i'm safe ) i think once i have her size(s) figured out i'm going to go buy a lingerie set, i think it's a special gift (what do others think?) what does lingerie say? i think it says that i think she is sexy (which i do).

I wouldn't buy a woman lingerie on on my own what so ever. You spend the time picking out something that you think would look sexy on your girl and you give it to her. She puts it on and guess what, it's the wrong size. If it's too small, she may feel embarrassed that she's larger than you perceive her to be. If it's too large, she'll think that you believe that she's fat. Think about it. Even though they come in basic sizes, it makes a difference between styles, where the band lies, where the thighs are cut, the type of fabric.

Instead, use your imagination. Buying someone lingerie screams naughtiness, capitalize on it. Give her a gift certificate to VS and tell her that you will go with her to help her pick something out. But that's not all, your objective is not to just buy some undies, but to sneak into the dressing room with her while she tries them on. It'll take balls, it'll probably give you a few stares from the salespeople and the other customers but think about what it will do for the excitement factor for you and your girl?

These are the types of things that guys seldom do in a relationship and ultimately they get bored because there's no excitement. Make an effort to make sure it never goes away.

BTW: honestly, is this a good gift idea? personally, I think so (the gift says that I think she is sexy, it is something we will both get enjoyment out of, and it shows her that I'm a little naughty). Since this would be the first time (if I do consider) buying a woman lingerie, I think its ballsy.

So we chatted today online (she is away at the moment) and I guess she caught wind of my plan (lingerie ) and she asked why I was asking what she liked to wear, I tried playing it off that I was only curious but, then she got a little worried that I had already bought her some lingerie (which I haven't). Since she is tall (6'0") that sizing would be difficult, so she said that it would be fun for us to go shopping together (YAY!) I replied with my thoughts exactly . So I have to think of a nice gift to get her for Christmas.

Yea, thats an idea I suppose.

Its her birthday in a week or so, so together with christmas and her bday I spent like £150 on her, 2 items for her birthday and 3 for christmas. I'm sort of thinking it's a bit too much and have a suspicious feeling shes only got me 1 or 2 relatively cheap things.
