I'm a little surprised that De Angelo advocates chivalry, since it is seems so out of line with the whole manosphere idea of not buying drinks, not pedestalizing, negging, being an @sshole, etc. I've found that a lot of guys on the forum are chivalrous, which really surprised me since the whole "jerk game" thing is pushed so hard here.
Also, one of the biggest insults on the forum is to be called a "white knight". So again, it surprised me that guys would advocate chivalry when it is so closely tied to the knighthood's code of conduct, which they seemingly reject. Then there are the complaints that feminism wants the advantages of the patriarchy with none of the disadvantages. Chivalry seems to be giving that to them.
I'm not saying I am against chivalry. I hold doors open for people (not just women) out of respect. But I am surprised to find so many guys here practicing it when it seems so incongruent with the rest of the manosphere.
