This is pathetic.

The law is to not place too much trust. It's easy to trust friends when you have nothing, but it's not so easy when you have things of value. Friendships are also dynamic in nature, subject to the whims of gradual change, rather than static and unchanging. You can become blind-sighted and victimized by change.don't trust, even deceive your friends?
Honesty is not always the best policy: "Honesty is actually a blunt instrument, which bloodies more than it cuts. Your honesty is likely to offend people; it is much more prudent to tailor your words, telling people what they want to hear rather than the coarse and ugly truth of what you feel or think."The problem is that you often do not know your friends as well as you imagine. Friends often agree on things in order to avoid an argument. They cover up their unpleasant qualities so as to not offend each other. They laugh extra hard at each other's jokes. Since honesty rarely strengthens friendship, you may never know how a friend truly feels. Friends will say that they love your poetry, adore your music, envy your tastes in clothes—maybe they mean it, often they do not.
But yet, the book protects you from the abuses of power. Know your enemy's playbook and you will not fall into their traps.totally not a required read to having a good life at the very least.
The book only briefly mentions this and in the context of war. The Japanese invaded China in 1939, during a civil war between the Communists and Nationalists. The Japanese retreated and gave the Communist army practice to fight the Nationalists. "Without a worthy opponent," Mao explained, "a man or group cannot grow stronger."Lion:

the Real Man knows people may use those on himslaog said:Politicans are a good example. AFC's who were probably bullied in school and now seek power over others so that they can feel superior.
Power in itself isn't a bad thing depending on how somebody comes to power. In the examples from the book its basically telling you to lie, deceive etc. Basically lower your standards of behaviour. Real men don't do that, only AFC's do that.
The book itself is correct in everything that it says but it doesn't mention the negatives of following those laws.

I agree.slaog:

Examples may involve lies and deceit but there are examples of honesty. There is a whole chapter on honesty! In the examples from the book its basically telling you to lie, deceive etc.
Most laws have examples of transgressions of law and also reversals of when you shouldn't do or should do opposite of the law. This considers negative consequences. The laws also provide checks and balance. If you're caught spying on someone (law 14), you're violating keep your hands clean (law 26) and guarding your reputation (law 5), leading to isolation (violating law 18). One example of a warning: "If people begin to suspect you're worming secrets out of them under the cover of conversation, they will strictly avoid you."The book itself is correct in everything that it says but it doesn't mention the negatives of following those laws.
I think what he is actually say that real men need to know what rules people might play by.slaog said:So real men lie, cheat, steal etc. I have a different opinion of what a real man is.
What this means is actually fairly straight forward: often times "enemies" allow one to perform above and beyond what one would normally be capable of. Remember the Ali vs. Fraser fights? De Le Hoya vs. Trinidad? Superman vs. Doomsday? Michael Corleone vs. The 4 Families? The Canada vs. Russia Summit Series?Lion said:Excerpt from Law 2: If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.
Can you shed some light on how and when this is practiced?

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.
