NOOOOOOOO, my arms are small because I am freaking 170-175 god damn it.

And I bet if you hadn't done all your fancy arm **** they'd still be 16"+.

Yes obviously they won't be big at your bodyweight, I was talking about your lifts. You're also mistaken to think that they could not be (much) bigger at 175 lbs as well. You're also mistaken to think my arms would be 16" without my direct arm work. My arms grew quickly when I started blasting them hard, and I am 100% sure that if I didn't work them hard they would be lagging.

Why are Stallions 15" then
So you think 15" is a good arm size and is achieved through the big compounds? There are guys with 15" arms in my gym and they have never done a squat or dead in their entire lives. Also, you should know that going from a start of 12-13" pre-training and adding 2 inches on the arms is a LOT easier than going from 15" to 17.5" +. I think your numbers and perceptions are a little skewed tbh.

I wrote the above to show you contradicting yourself.

Anyway, we are starting to go in circles now.

The fact of the matter is that we are both relatively inexperienced, so I'll leave it too guys that know what they are talking about:

As for numbers, I think it is yours that are a little screwed.

I'm out...

I knew it was an April Fool's joke the minute I read who posted it. What's even more funny is how many of the H & F regulars on here fell for it! :p

I am going to side with Charles Poliquin and IA...it just makes sense to me. When guys talk about Arm size and penis size it is always a very ridiculously exaggerated topic hahaha

may i ask quagmire..what are you trying to achieve if you dont want to gain mass... at 170lbs most people who are training would be trying to improve their physique and gain some lean muscle...seems like a waste of time if all you want to do is get strong, unless you are training for a specific sport like mma!

I dont want to be huge, but I do want to be bigger, thats the point of bodybuilding is it not? gain muscle? if you just want to tone up then there should be no need for squats etc.

so you think you need to do squats if you want to keep your body toned? squats are required for growth, that is all

No. One of the best things you could do though.

Ehh, squats are pre-dominantly a quad and posterior chain exercise (hamstrings+glutes)...so why are your legs not included in your body? They are. So why would you not do them...

No, they're not REQUIRED. You could do leg press instead.

(note also being 'toned' is having a bit of muscle [at least] and low bf%)

EFFORT, don't forget to drink your bodyweight in ounces of beer on training days. For me, that means 200 ounces of PBR :)
