Can meditation boost confidence?

Hi all

My main concern is my confidence. I'm trying everything I can to make it better and am still searching for more ways.

I've stumbled onto meditation. I tried it a few months ago, but to try to make my concentration levels while studying go up. I have to be honest, after just 4-5 days of 10 minutes of meditation I gave up, I didn't see any improvement, it even got worse.

But I want to try it again, as I read a lot you have to have patience for the effects to kick in. Is this true? Are there persons on this forum who do it and can tell me all the benefits?

I don't know if it can boost confidence, but it definitely helps remove some things that stand in the way of confidence like fear of rejection and fear generally. Meditation helps show trivial thoughts of guilt, shame, anger and even lust for the illusions they are.

There are several types of meditation. I am not a practicing monk, so prefer walking meditation, standing meditation, everyday activity meditation, even lying down meditation to the standard sitting for hours. The posture is not important, the state of mind is. You can probably google up tons of info on all these types.

The best way to build confidence with people and eventually women is to cultivate a social network of people giving positive feedback over time. Talk to everyone you see, no matter who they are. Start with "hello" and a nod as you pass. Take an interest in them and their lives. Confidence will follow.

Meditation is about awareness, and letting go. You won't build confidence, but it can help with the fear you have of not being confident
