i feel you wyld, i protested several times against the closing of threads.

if a threads is useless, it should be deleted, but closing topics has no sense since you can still read what is written in it, you just can't post.

anyway, i've never seen a forum where moderators close as many threads

The moderating here is complete BS. Countless interesting threads closed or simply vanish without explanation, some of my own included.

Wankers.

Oh, and I wonder how long it will be before this one is closed as well haha.

in a normal forum, no moderator would close a thread because it has already been discussed somewhere else, maybe years before. forums are for discussing, whether you admit it or now

you're right.

they would probably delete the thread instead.

--------------

and in response to this thread, I think it was locked because...

1) yes, you belong in the kitchen
2) for the flame war that ensued at the end of it.
3) you kept bumping it...although you reminded us of some valid points...but most have been said many many times before ...we have so many "secrets to success" posts/threads

I personally subscribe to LIT's DJ Code:
1. his pleasure comes first
2. he will quickly dump a woman who gives him trouble
3. doesn’t suck up to women or put them on pedestals
4. doesn’t let women or people disrespect him.
5. Gets pissed off and isn’t afraid to show it
6. Aren’t afraid to hurt women emotionally.
7. Doesn’t care what others think about him and isn’t looking for approval.

And you belong back back at school judging you on your grammar. I liked the thread and respect your input Wyld.

tell me what would be the problem with letting open threads that bring up old topics, but with new points of view? that's the way i frequent this board, because i want to see people's different points of view, not because i want to discuss about new things every day

Well, couldn't you write it in the old thread, hence bumping it...and that way it would keep the forum organized because all thoughts/ideas/opinions related to certain topics would be in the same thread.

I'm not a mod, but I think they do a good job around here...I've had a few threads closed/deleted, but for good reason, and I don't argue why, because I know why.

While you'd have to ask the moderator who closed it, my assumption would be because you cross-posted, which is a violation of forum rules. In case any of you don't know what cross-posting is, it's when you post a thread in one section of the forum, then in an attempt to gain more responses or views, you post it in another section as well. It doesn't matter if you change the name of the thread and leave the content the same - one must either be closed or deleted. If it continues, everything is deleted from all crossposted threads.

http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83296

http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83271

At least, this is my intepretation of why it was closed. If it had been me I'd have deleted one of the duplicate threads entirely, but different strokes for different folks...

What's the problem with bringing new points of view to old threads instead? Pook even agrees that the potential for future discoveries by fresh thinking is out there:

In fact, that's stickied at the top of DJ Discussion. However, it would be a fallacy to use one thing to prove a point and ignore others, like when he stated:

4) If a subject has been posted in a thread, post in the existing thread, do NOT make a new thread.
Now honestly, do you really think it's condusive to a well maintained forum to have 26+ threads in Health & Fitness asking the same thing:

how to be a bit taller
Growing Taller ...Is it possible?
How to grow taller!!
Growing Taller and Bigger
Growing taller before 18?
Growing Taller Exercises
I wanna grow taller and enlarge my ?
Growing Taller.
looking taller
At what age do people stop growing?
Height Increase
Height
another thread about height

etc etc etc...

Yes, these are all real titles of real threads asking virtually the same question. If something as innocuous as 'how to get taller' has dozens of threads devoted to it you can imagine how many dating would have - there would be scores and scores of threads all on the same page all discussing the exact same thing. Hell, I'd be willing to bet the conversations in some of the threads on the 'ideal forum' you envision would even be identical - people could just copy their last response to an earlier thread, open up a 'new' thread, and paste it there. Wouldn't that be great - a forum where every thread is the same as the last. It would definitely make modding a lot easier...

it's a matter of fact that if you got taller you would be more confident, so it's normal that in a seduction forum this question is asked over and over... and that's the same for threads like "i fùcked my girl without a condom, i'm gonna be a father?" or "my d1ck is just 5.8", how can i get to at least 5.9"?!?!?!"

every forum has lots of different threads about the same exact subjects and i have never heard any member of those forums complaining, while in SoSuave every week we get to see a post about how bad you and other mods do your job...
my guess is that people don't like to scroll 25-pages threads in order to look for an answer to their questions.
when you have different threads, you can understand exactly how the subject is treated in that specific thread and decide immediately if it's likely to contain the answer you are looking for or not
at least, for me it works this way and i think for many other people too, that's why in this forum protesting against the mods is so popular

diablo, I originally posted it in the general discussion forum. Someone made the comment on that thread that it should go into the DJ Bible. At that point I re-posted it in tips with a different title because I felt it might be helpful there. It was a good post and frankly, there are very few of those being posted on here lately.

I believe it was locked simply because I alerted one of the posts on it that was yet ANOTHER blatant case of a member here flamebaiting me. It seems that rather than actually deal with those members who do nothing but attack, insult and flamebait others (which is against the rules), SOME of the moderators just lock any thread they disrupt. I have to ask...when is that going to stop? Why enforce a rule that closes a damn good thread only to allow a few disruptors to essentially shut down any discussion they want to by breaking the rules? I mean, c'mon...it's getting really ridiculous. Why can the flamebaiters repeatedly break the rules every day and never get banned or have their posts deleted? Why should disruptors have the power to destroy the place? The thread of mine about the dangers of anti-feminism was a good thread too and it got locked after the same disruptors came onto it and started breaking rules with the flamebaiting and personal attacks.

Basically, there is a disturbing pattern here...there is a group of radical masculinists who have come onto this site and they don't care about dating or finding success with women. All they do is fill the place with negativity, encouraging the guys here to act like victims and they blame their failures on feminism. There are plenty of men's rights forums out there...which is where they belong if all they want to do is rant about that stuff.

Perhaps if the discussion and ranting about feminism were treated like politics it would force the disruptors to take their negativity and flamebaiting elsewhere.

Christ, I get blamed for arguing when I defend myself against these *******s and threads I start get locked. So I try to ignore them and report their violation of the rules and nothing is done about them and my thread STILL gets locked. Seriously, diablo...what is the f*cking point of me even trying to play nicely? At least I make the effort to contribute some quality input and discussion here, which is a lot more than the disruptors have ever done.

You guys need to start banning those who contribute nothing and disrupt everything.

Oh...and when a thread is locked whoever locked it should post WHY it was locked. I know that YOU do that, diablo...but most don't.

She makes a good point. I thought in a post ages ago SoSuave.com promised to "ban first and ask questions later". What happened to that?

Edit : although in this case, I believe it was locked due to cross posting.

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Oh...and if it was locked just because it was "cross posted" then why the hell are there currently TWO threads by Immaculate about getting a girl pregnant (Mature Man and ANything Else)? One of those threads was moved by a moderator. There are actually currently several topics that are crossposted and none of the others were locked.

That's why I doubt that is the reason. I think it was locked only because of the disruptors and flamebaiters.

Why is this stuff allowed? All of these posts by jprjrjr are a violation of the rules yet none were deleted and he is still here. Why?

What a bunch of scum you are. This idiot was man enough to have sex, now wants to kill an unborn child because he's not ready to have a kid?

THEN DON'T STICK YOUR DYCK IN A WOMAN AZZHOLE!!!!!!

She told you she was on the pill? SO WHAT...You had sex, now take responsibilty for your actions..quit fvcking blaming her for what you did.

Consider having the kid and putting it up for adoption. There are millions of couples who can't have kids that would provide a good life to your child.

What a dumb piece of shyt you are.

If you read my post, you'd see that I said it wasn't her advice you stupid fvcker.

Why should we give her credit for something other people have said first?

What the hell does me not trying to fvck her have to do with anything?

No, I don't think it was because of cross posting. Around the same time that my thread was locked, one of the linked threads below was moved to this forum. The same person posted the exact same thread in Mature Man.

http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83355

http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83333

If it were locked because of cross posting then so would one of the above threads.

On this forum if something is somewhat worthwhile but is going downhill it's a lot easier to close it. That way people can still read it if they want. In addition to that a lot of people post the same crap so closing threads sets an example, deleting things just keeps it clean. No one's going to learn if they don't know what's wrong.

If it really bothers you message either gio or paradox because they're the only mods who control those forums.

Don't report posts like crazy because we don't care enough to solve the problem, closing a thread is one button. And after all, it's a lot easier for you to just send a report then a PM. It works both ways.

I was the one that closed it because I saw someone was flame baiting and once that starts it will continue even if I deleted the posts. Plus since you have a cross post in DJT it's not really the end of the world one of your 2 posts were closed. We're taking action on the offense but remember mod's can't ban people so how long someone goes unbanned is out of our control. If you really want that thread opened, I will delete every reply in it just because I don't want to go through sorting out what's what. Also in the future don't cross post. Either ask us to move your thread from DJD to DJT or just be content with where it is.

If you want us to take more action on it send us a good PM with links to offending posts. Don't just send us PM's complaining because someone said you're a poopy head. PMing is the right thing to do, it doesn't do any good to make threads complaining about something.

Remember, we're not getting paid to do this, we're not getting anything out of it, we do it because we want to see this forum stay good and informative.

If you want to backseat mod maybe you should just make your own site. It's getting really annoying finding a thread where about 20 people have said "LOL BAN HIM LOL I WANNA BBE A MODERATOR" Just report the post or send us a PM depending on what's going on. Rule of thumb is if they're trying to solicite, steal someones product or blatant trolling send us a report. For someone trolling you send us a PM.

Probably about a day after everyone starts making trolling posts.

I really want this forum to stay good but so many conflicting opinions on how a mod is supposed to act doesn't help. If you don't like how we act then send a PM to allen, we aren't gonna change because 5 people think we should act a certain way.

Plus if you think our modding is bad imagine how bad it would be if GGTW was a mod
