I've read that the "core" muscles such as the abs and back muscles should be worked daily.

I'd like to get the 6-pack going by summer.

Opinions?

try working your back daily, i doubt any human could do that.

You can work your core once a week directly, although a lot of lifts work the core anyway, zercher squats, overhead squats, standing mil press all work the core, but once a week is enough.

PLEASE RESEARCH BEFORE YOU ASK QUESTIONS.

NO muscle group should be worked everyday, PERIOD. Your muscles need 72 hours (at least) to recover from an intense workout.... and you abdominals happen to be muscles as well.

Abs should be worked the same way as other muscles: heavy, low-rep, and with adequate rest time.

There are certain muscles that CAN be worked daily. 72 hours rest is over doing it for a normal workout. I'd give it at least 24 hours per body part. There is no set recovery time. Just listen to your body. If you ran a marathon, take a week off. If you did a half a$$ work out, who knows. You may be ready to go at it the next day.

Personally, I get no benefit of doing abs every day. I try to do them every other day. But, I could probably get away with only twice a week. Maybe less.

It's your body. Learn what it responds to. Listen to it. If you don't feel like working out, chances are you've over trained and need more rest.

Same with suppliments. What works for you, may not work for me. EVERYONE is different.

Why fore arms?

Why not calves? Abs? Lower back?

Can you see your abs right now? If not, then the best thing to do is bring your BF% down enough so that you can. As long as there is fat blocking your abdominals, no amount of crunches or resistance will make you see your 6-pack. But as far as training goes, follow the what the one guy above said: heavy weight and low reps, with adequate rest in between.

And you don't have to go out and buy one of those "ab-slides." There's nothing you can't do with those that you can do with normal ab exercises.

Train hard :)

why treat your abs differently from other muscles and work em every day?

try to have a core day, where you do stuff like evil wheel rolls, you use this wheel with handles on it (or a barbell with 2 equal sized plates) and from standing or on the knees position ( while holding onto barbell) roll it forward until your arms are fully extended overhead and your body is parallel to floor, then go back to starting position without a rowing motion.

then you can do
D) Lateral trunk extension and flexion, elevated on bench

and if you still not satisfied, throw in some zercher squats
