You know, that would actually be a good opener...especially with Hillary as a frontrunner for 2008.

Let's come up with some funny pros & cons.

Also, what about a gay man? That's a comedy routine in there just waiting to happen...

As long as she is removed from power one week out of every month! LOL

If there was a woman that had the brilliance, the gift and the skills to do so I do not think she would ever have the respect of the people.

Not just the people of her own country but that of other countries as well.

The lack of respect would lead to lack of credibilty then it turn to lack of trust, etc..... I think it would truly weaken her nation in the eyes of many.

Maybe one day, but I do not think I will see it in my lifetime.

Its not impossible. Notable examples of successful women politicians are: Queen Victoria, Catherine the Great, and Thatcher.

However men typically possess the traits required by powerful nations: Ambition, strength of character, and a willingless to place objective goals (ie. national strength) over wussy issues like human rights. No great nation was built on love and nurturing.

Hillary could probably pull it off. I don't think I'd vote for her though unless I really didn't like the person running against her.

You all forgot to mention that Germany, one of the most important countries in the world has a female chancellor as the head of the state: Angela Merkel.

She got elected exactly one year ago.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

That's EXACTLY what they said about Thatcher, and she turned out well, at least in terms of her respectability.

Just to add something to this:

I often heard this myth in our society saying " if women were in position of power to lead their nations they would most likely solve conflicts without going to war (unlike men) and there will be peace on earth"

The reality is that through out history women who were in power DID in fact decide that the best course of action was to go to war, so it didn't make any difference. Let that be a lesson to all the feminists and the propogantists who often say other wise.

Women can be leaders too but they have to be above the age of 50 to be effective. There is a reason why you will never see an attractive 30-40 year old woman lead a country.

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is Liberia's new leader... a woman's touch is much needed after Charles Taylor wrecked the country. The guy has an accountant's name, but started civil wars resulting in tens of thousands of deaths.

3 things:

1. Golda Meir (?) led Israel pretty well in the 60s

2. Hillary Clinton, don't think she has a chance even though she may be strong and butch in her views, we live in a conservative nation atm and i feel that the American people won't vote for her just because she is female.

3 CLEAN UP POLITICS, ELECT WOMEN!! (hehe)

I dunno abt other countries but one of independent India's most successful Prime Ministers was a woman named Indira Gandhi. She was supposed to be the "dumb doll" installed by the ruling party, but she handled so many crisises effectivley that she was known as the "only man in the cabinet". I would say that she was probably one of the best Prime Minister independent India ever had.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

Of course. If they have the abilities that the male leaders have... I'm all for it. It takes a special woman to do the job though. They are very rare.

Hell, it might be a good idea to clean out those fossils that we call leaders. Change is good.

What about the idea that women are EMOTIONAL creature?

What about the EVOLUTIONARY role of women in society? Women were not ment to LEAD. That is the MALE'S job.

On a side note, does anyone remember about that Indian (I believe) female leader who decreased the populations by castrating countless of men?

Pretty clever, eh?

Actually it was a man who did it - Sanjay Ghandi. He didn't castrate anyone either, he tried to force sterilise over 20 million males. Although this was done during his mother's reign, so she can take some of the credit.

Why India didn't implement a one-child policy is beyond me...

I doubt a woman of child-bearing age could ever do it, they would need to be older, Grandmother types. No young hotties, obviously.:) So think about it, a young man could rule.. but a young woman? I know there were some young queens but they had ministers to make the decisions for them. Can you imagine Paris Hilton or Britney Spears as president?!?!
