Ok so i just got a decent paying job and im planning in buying the car that ive been wanting for a whiiiile, a between 04 and 06 nissan maxima.
I want it in red and later down the road i plan in putting some rims and some tvs in it.

My big worry is this, i believe that i had a bill in the collection agency since i havent paid it yet its only $111 that i owe to LA Fitness i can pay it easily but there is a reason why i dont wanna pay them that money, they lied to me. but thats another story anyway, how bad can that affect my credit? im only 21 yrs old and i have paid allll my bills on time including my college tuition which i pay monthly , everything is on time my credit card payment also.

So will that one bill in the collection agency affect my credit dramaticly? im very scare about that since i dont know what my score is, is and im fearing that i have the worst credit ever cause of that one bill.

They sent me several letters (LA Fitness) saying how they were gonna send it to the collection if i dont pay it blah blah like 4 letters, and they have stoped now so i guess that they really did send it to them or are they sayng that just to scare me?

I dont wanna pay no more than 300 for the car payment and the insurence is no problem since i get a discount from my gf best friend which leaves me paying 120 a month, thats 420 in total a month for having the car which i can afford.

But that collection thing is the only thing that has been on my mind for the longest, even if i pay it it still shows on my credit history correct? or does it go away as soon as i pay the full amount?

i used to sell nissans, and I am still nissan certified.

a quick and dirty way to figure your car payment is to take the first three digits of what you are buying, and mulitply by 2. so if you are looking at a 24000 06 maxima, you are looking at paying 480 a month with no money down and good credit.

BUT!!!!!!!

Nissan has what's called a college accecptance program.. I used to assrape college grads because they didn't know about it and were just happy they can get in a new car. But if you have graduated in the last 2 years or are in the progess of graduating int he next 6 months, you are automatically approved, regardless of your credit history. not only that, you are guaranteed a Tier 1 though Nissan (6.95%, actually 1.9 now on the maxima, it's either that or take the 1500 rebate, you always go with the interest if you plan on keeping the car)

the thing is you would have to buy a new car however. Like I said I sold them for a while and a Maxima SL is right up my alley, but you can get a fully loaded Nissan SL, assuming you don't need the nav for I would think 27ish, and at Tier 1 interest rate you will be closer to about 400 a month.

what I am getting at is, if you are looking for a car payment of 300 a month, that's a 15000 car with no money down, any way you slice it. it's better I tell you now becfore you think the salesman is playing games with you. it's not mathically possible to do 300 a month, at 60 or 72 months, and get a maxima. your BEST bet is to find an 05 (don't go older, interest goes up) maxima BASE model with less than 50k miles on iit that they have less than 16000 in, and that's not going to happen

having sold cars, having bought cars... the allure wears off. if you can stay out of debt, but if you are going to buy a car anyway, and you like nissans, and this is assuming you have no money down, I would strongly consider leasing an 07 altima you would get it for less than 300 a month, I think 279ish with little ot no money down, and like I said, you are guaranteed the best rate.

Do you have established credit? Have you had credit cards, loans, student loans, etc.? All of these will help. Usually any credit is better than no credit, unless your credit is very bad.

How long has it been since they've been chasing you down for that money? The credit reports of "Late" go by 30 days at a time, when it shows on the reports. 30days, 60 days, 90 days Late, etc.

I suggest you pay for one of those online reports on your three credit scores, which won't necessarily give you the same numbers you will get at the dealership, and see your score. Get an idea where you are. Most, if not all, of the reports on my credit score where from major credit cards/banks and loans. If your score is way below 600, or considered bad, you might want to get a co-signer.

If your score is good, yet not great, you might want to use the opportunity to build your credit, even if you have to pay a little more in interest than somebody with a very high score. I did exactly that with my previous car, for a 60 month loan, raised my credit score by about 100 points in that time span, and just bought a new car at 0% interest, thanks to my high score. Remember, in this country, things are run with, #1 Money, #2 Credit.

Dealerships usually reserve those credit specials for people in the 700 club, or very close to it. Pay off the debt. If you go get your car very soon, there's a chance that the most recent stuff won't show up.

Also, if you are planning on making that many modifications to the car, it is best you buy it, so you get to keep it, and won't have to pay the dealer money when you turn in their car. They will try to make money off of you by charging you for everything, starting with the extra miles. If you break something, or have to repair something, saving you money won't be their priority; after all, it is their car, and you must go get it repaired/fixed where they tell you.

Babe's do love the 'verts, but for themselves, not for their men. For anybody considering a convertible, make sure that the convertible model doesn't make the car look girly. It is very common for sporty cars to look masculine when they are black, GT, and a coupe, yet once you go with a fruity color, and with the convertible option, you won't see many men who look good in them.

Instead of getting the good attention and interest from the babes, they'll look at you and salivate at the prospects of taking you shopping, being their emotional tampon, and making you their new girlfriend, just like their gay friends.

Yea, stang GT black vert with mach 1 lip, lowered, exhaust, wheels, everything looks kick a55. But get that same car in red or maroon and it's ugly.

May I also recommend a stick. You can kino girl while you drive if you have stick, put her hand on the stick and shift with your hand on top.

I'm selling my car, I've PMed the op. Unfortunately I have to let it go, no license. :(

 Stangs rule! I pulled up next to some hott blonde with a convertible Cobra with the color changing paint the other day...I almost creamed in my pants. Then she proceeded to blow my V6 away at the green light. lol!

And I kinda agree with you G.O.L. You do have to be careful with convertibles. I should have said certain cars are good for convertibles. You go with a convertible bug, mercedes, BMW Z3, miata, etc...you're gay. Period. Mustangs are good. Corvette's if you have the cash, camaro's, BMW M5, cars like that are okay.

DJslVt is right, forgot to mention, automatic transmission sports car, tend to be labeled "girly" by most people. Most girls do not know how to drive a manual/stick shift car, so they will ask you to teach them how to. They used to do that with my previous car, that was their excuse to want to ride in my car.

So you get a convertible, red, maroon, automatic, and not a GT, girls will love your car, but not in a good way; they'll want it for themselves.

ehhh...I got a candy apple red auto. I know how to drive manual and wanted one, but I couldn't find one as nice as mine in my price range. Hooked myself up with the dubs, window tints, color keyed interior, and black leather, GT hood and I'm good to roll. Soon as I get outta college, I'm going for the new GT, black drop top though.

01 GT 5 speed is for sale, btw. 25k miles MGW shifter, mach 1 lip, pristine. Kills maximas, boxers, DB7s, and more. I teach stick driving with sale.

If you relationship guy get stick, because that way she don't get to ruin your car by driving over speed bumps or getting dents. Yea, if you looking for something very fast, and for good money, SHO Taurus, SVT Countour.

if ya get a convertible its gotta be something like a GT Mustang or a Sebring with a good engine, not a 2 seater or a bug or anything gay

i'd go with a full sized sedan or a truck/SUV any day though if I was getting a new whip. something nice but somethin that also will keep a low profile, the last thing you want is a bunch of douchebags bugging you about your car.

IMHO, last thing anyone should do is buy a new car. It's a waste of money, and they honestly aren't making them any better. Something like a C3 Stingray, or a late-60's pony car. Don't buy a Mustang that's newer than early 70's, they're heavy, ugly pieces of trash. Depending on what you're into, get a supercharged 15-year old Japanese sports car (great performance and speed, true "racecar" look), a classic (at least 30 years old, speaks for itself), or a European supercar, any age.

This coming from someone who isn't old enough to know better, or to be able to afford, on his own, a new Mustang! Young grasshopper, go learn about life, price and value first, before you open your pie-hole.

Alright, I'm feeling like Wyld, just answering to anything anybody posts about anything and everything, and trying to always have the last word. Pretty soon I'll reach 5,000 posts by next month. I better stop.

Do you honestly think that being 33 makes your opinion worth anymore than mine? I could put my age as 33 too, but to be honest, if I'm still going to be on this board at 33, I may as well just kill myself now.

If you want to give me some reasons why I'm wrong about the Mustang, go ahead. Telling me I don't know better is simply arrogant rhetoric, and says more about you than it does me.

Oh and I also notice you mention me not being able to afford a car on my own. Unlike the vast majority of people my age, my parents don't buy me ****, although they could if they wanted to. This summer I'll be buying a Porsche 944 with money I earned myself. I can't wait to see the cars I'll have when I'm 33. Enjoy your American budget-muscle.

Oh boy. Enjoy that 217 horsepower. Getting that is like getting a Saab or Volvo Station Vagon, it's old. I drove a 450 horse turbo, and let me tell you, that thing is slow. It is also hard to handle and very average in traffic. Now, the 91 Saleen stock, that's a car. 2000 lbs, 400 horse, handles beautifully, has plenty of low end torque for the street, also is unbeatable on the track.

The 944 will require a maintenance after maintenance, assuming that you buying an old one with a lot of miles on it, it will be a pain to keep driving it every day. It's not a good idea to have that car at 17, it's not realiable and requires money to keep it running. Besides, it's slow and has special handling quarks which you either learn or not. Wrecking is possible, especially if you don't have enough money for maintenance.

The fastest exotic you can buy does not go faster than 10 seconds. The one's that go at least that much are very expensive. You take them to the track and it's a very dissapointing experience to know that you spend all that money on your fancy car and you getting raped by joe shmoe on a used 85 mustang with black tints and red neck marosso sticker in the back. Horrible!!

What? Speed don't matter? Size don't matter either they say, but they like black guys better.... Don't tell me they handle better, Saleen, Vette, and Viper are dominating races that they are participating in.

P.S. That's 217 at the crank, at the rear wheel you'll get 160ish. You vs honda civic with some handicap given to you makes a fair race. Road course won't be any better.

Thank you very much for qualifying yourself to me. Also, I didn't know you were that sensitive, so I apologize for hurting your little feelings.

BTW, Porshe = Penis extension. PERIOD. END OF STORY. Not my opinion, but the one of several hot chix I know very well. Not boasting, just reporting!
