Witch career is more recomendable?

I've worked on the electrician field before. The college I am going to has a good course for it.

I have no experience with B.M though. Anyone familiar with this field?

Presumably the tech job is a path to becoming an electrician? That is a tangible skill that will always be in demand. The problem with college now is that there is degree inflation - everybody has a degree, so it doesn't mean very much. Real skills as an electrician will always have value.

Agreed, learn a trade or most of one while learning whatever else you may want to do. I can't imagine a business management class being much real use. Look for practical writing (not literature) classes, computer proficiency (not software engineering... unless that's a career that interests you), basic business law, basic applied finance and business math, basic accounting including financial statement analysis. Get a foundation in those things and you will have lots to offer a broad array of employers. If college ever was the place to "figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life" it's not now, so practical general education is the way to go IMO.

I would pursue the electrician route but also don't dismiss the value of a college degree.

My advice would be to go into something that you would enjoy the most.

Why did you originally quit being an electrician?

I have a friend who's an electrician, yes, he's employed and in demand, but he's a very hard worker, and will probably never see a six figure salary.

A businessman management degree may be a dime a dozen, but the sky's the limit if you can manage a sales team and or run a business.

I think two things you should ask yourself. Will you be happier wiggling through crawl spaces pulling wire and getting dirty, and bringing home a guaranteed average wage? Or would you be happier putting on a tie and dealing with people all day, with an unsure financial future but the opportunity to make more money?

Have a look at which jobs are in demand and pursue that route.

Tbh there's far too many people in business management. Tough field to break into.

honestly, i say go with the trade. not only will you be less in debt from going to college, but you will learn some pretty good stuff in that trade. you will always be in demand. i also think that down the road, there will be a surplus of individuals who have business degrees and not enough jobs to go around.

I never quit the electrician job. I was helping my brother because he needed a helper but he didn't need me anymore, and he makes 45 bucks an hour without he's license maybe if he wasn't an alcoholic he would have gotten he's license and be making more money.

Yes I'm a hard worker no doubt about it. I've worked tougher construction jobs before so this electrician job was a piece of cake. Haha

Well I start school next week. I'll go ahead and get the course and I qualified for financial aid and the fafsa program so school is being paid.

I double majored in Econ and Mgnt, Bachelor degrees hold very little weight now. Everyone is going to school and racking up debt out the ass. 4 year degrees are the new high school diplomas. Even Master programs are no longer as effective upon graduation, I know 2 that are still unemployed after a year with law degrees.

In your case - get certified. You can spend tens of thousands getting a degree every has, or you can be specialized for a couple grand and dedication. When push comes to shove in America, why should I pay you more than Juan, Sanjeev or Pang?
