Anyone seen these commercials?!, I find them to be fvcking hilarious in a sad kinda way.

All the commercials are pretty much the same. There is a woman at home doing her thing and all of the sudden a psycho maniac man bursts through the door to either rob/rape/kill and then he hears the alarm system siren so he runs away.

First of this is another commercial portraying men in a negative light thus appealing to hystrical women or making women more afraid of men. Secondly if someone wants to come into someone else's house they don't act like a rabid bear thus triggering the alarm.

Today I seen a new one, where this guy leaves a girl's house after a party and she seems attracted to him but then after everyone leaves he comes back and smashes the door's window without answering to her calls as to why he is doing it. Yes women you better get an expensive security alarm system because the nice guy you got to know could turn into a rabid zombie rapist in a blink of an eye

Found the commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKI4t5MFG1E

It's sad but it sells...

It's eerie talking to guys who've bought into this crap, they don't even see what the problem is with this stuff.

Ah yes! If there were only gangs of HB9's running around the 'burbs, kicking in doors and having their wicked way with lonley AFC guys.

The unfortunate reality is that most violent home invasions are done by men.

I mean really! If a woman broke into your house and you caught her, you'd smack the crap out of her and not be very scared about it.:cuss: "Beyotch! Put that knife down before you cut yourself!":box:

A guy breaks in and you start wondering if you'll see sunrise tomorrow. :nervous:

Of course it also warns you if your insane ex-girlfriend breaks in & tries to kill you for dumping her...Now THAT would be a cool commercial!

The % is so small, you'd have more chance of being hit by a bus. A flying bus whilst hang gliding over the pacific ocean.

It's simply scare mongering and this doesn't do it any favours either 'most violent home invasions are done by men', though this maybe true the % of men who actually do that compared to the rest of the population is about .00000000001%.

I'd suggest you buy an alarm.

Also how many guys are going to try to break into a girls house after a date, if anything it is men with mental health problems or street scum who need a quick buck, rather then a typical male.

And thats the point of the thread, I feel. Adverts like this are just total fantasy, but women are more then willing to buy into that fantasy due to the inability to put 2 and 2 together and realise that the possibility of that actually happening is almost none existant, you'd have more chance of Jesus walking into your front door and taking a big steaming cra* on your carpet.

I say with the money you'll eventually spend anyway, why not just get some cheap battery operated alarms from Home Depot or somewhere and a gun? First they won't know if it's done by an alram company or not when they hear the alarm, and second, you get a head start to your weapon of choice.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

This reminds me of something I found in my girls handbag, a few weeks ago.

I was going through it to find her car keys, after she asked me to.

Anyway, in there is a big black block of plastic.

I pulled it out and said, "what's this then"?

She said it's a rape alarm.

With that I laughed, how is this going to stop you from being raped, if a guy was going to rape you, he'd just pick the dam thing up and lob it or stick it in a hole somewhere.

The thing is, how many women are going to carry a rape alarm? I bet shi* loads and the possibility of them being raped is about .0000000001% again.

I mean what sort of warped mind actually thinks, there going to get raped?!
What sort of mental programming brainwashing shi* has been ingested to persuade women to line up like lemmings to buy fuc*ing rape alarms?! - and all the assorted cra* that goes with it. What's next, bullet proof vests for school? Back pack detectors, incase one see's an asian kid with a hold hall?!

Goes to show you how fear mongering has infested the west.

It isn't just women though, you can be stopped whilst walking in a public park, arrested for taking pictures of your own kids - due to the fear of pedo' (males only again incidentally).

We live in a culture where fear, due to national papers has begun to dictate what people do, to a large degree.

Women just seem to be more gullible then the rest.

But it doesn't stop there. See those child line adverts? Child protection adverts e.t.c, yep usually Anti Male - Donate and all that nonesense.

After all it is profitable to demonise men in some circles, and this video is a perfect example of such a thing.

Why not just buy the girl a legal sized knife? If she stabs a guy, rape would be the last thing on his mind.

the only thing wrong with commercials like broadview are the changes of a home invasion happening are small as hell.

the broadview commecials are funny as hell thou,
what idiot just kicks/breaks a door/window open ?
i've only known about that technique being used in snatch & grabs and those were on stores.

you can always spot the people who are full of that new age fear,
they always think that something bad can only happen in certain situations.

one of my nephews' friends (age 13/14) can't even leave the front of his house because of his mother's fear of pedos, what's worse is she even walks with him from school (which is just a block away).
in a year or two she'll be wondering why he's rebeling against her.

The best part is that at least here in America, crime rates are going DOWN and have been going down since the 1990's.

A group of 4 of us were walking in the parking lot in a very NICE neighborhood. This girl was like: 'Oh it's so dark in here, I'm afraid, what if someone comes out? I could be raped.'

Now this girl like an HB3 at best

I'm like: 'Trust me, no guy is going to want to rape you.'

The other 2 people got a kick out of that one, the girl, she was speechless

I meant to post about those Broadview commercials! They are pukeworthy to say the least. The uber-innocent female, the male with a hood over his head and a hunchback in one scene...UGH I am sick of this society.

What's even better, when the phone rings the Broadview rep is a guy but it looks like he is wearing pink lipstick and just got his face exfoliated.

"Hello mam, this is Mark from Broadview Security. Don't worry, I'm a highly feminized man and I would never dream of fvcking you."

Those commercials make no sense to me. In them, they always show the criminal watching the house and observing that people are home before they break into the house. Logically, the only reason you'd break into a house while someone is home is to do harm to that person. If you just wanted to steal stuff, you'd wait for them to leave because it eliminates the risk of them shooting you or calling the police. That's why most burglaries occur during the day, while the homeowners aren't home.

So since we can conclude that the criminal in these examples is intending to do harm to the homeowners, we can also conclude that the alarm is almost pointless in these situations. An alarm just makes a loud noise. It's annoying, but it isn't going to prevent anyone from doing physical harm to you. The criminal could kill/rape/kidnap everyone in the house and get away long before the police arrive.

That said, an alarm can be useful to alert you to the presence of a break in if you're asleep or something like that, giving you time to grab your gun or call the police. But in the commercials it's always portrayed as the alarm itself scaring the person off, which just doesn't seem accurate to me.

hehe I've had that "wtf?!" moment before too. I had a couple women roommates awhile back from Cali, I walked into one of their rooms one morning to borrow some shampoo, and on her desk was this cool looking hi-tech pink plastic thing that looked like a beard trimmer.

I went and picked it up, and it turned out to be a cute pink high powered Taser.

Asked her about it later on and she said she keeps one in her purse when she goes out.

I made a joke of it for awhile, like every time we passed by eachother I'd edge away from her in fear.

-

So yeah a lot of women feel the need to protect themselves from guys, and I'm still deciding whether it's justified or not... I mean, it must automatically make guys look like "the enemy" which isn't fair for most of us, but how can we deny the 1% of guys who really ARE creeps and go around taking advantage of women...

Thats not the only thing sickening about those "Brinks" home security commercials.

The reverse racism within them is staggering.

Damn near every commercial features a heroic minority answering the call for a dangerous white burglar.

Why not an asian, hispanic, black, indian, or other ethnicity portraying the burglar once in a while?

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

Why does the "bad guy" always go through the front door where everyone in the neighborhood can see them. I think if someone was breaking into a house they would have enough sense and go in through the back where it is more secluded. Just sayin..

Best case scenario would be to have a gun as well as an alarm. After calling 911 it can take as long as 15 minutes for police to respond. Without a gun you'd be dead before the police even got there.

Because we live in a society where any time a white person uses force against a minority they are labeled an automatic racist regardless of the circumstances.
