I live in a very expensive real estate market (SF Bay Area) and so my apartment building is medium priced and thus not very impressive. In fact, the landlord doesn't maintain it well, there is chipped paint everywhere, very old appliances, trash not always removed timely, broken glass in some common areas. So, I am kind of embarrassed by this if bringing a woman over. And I often meet women that live in a little bit cheaper area so that they can live in a place that is really nice and often all brand new.

So, when it comes to bringing women over, what to do? I kind of feel embarrassed to bring them over because my apartment building looks so bad. Its actually graduate student housing with no amenities whereas a couple of women who I have dated live in luxury apartments with all kinds of fancy amenities. I can try to move but everything is so insanely expensive right now that I have not.

What would you all do in this situation?

Same for me, my house is from 1897. Has a lot of character but needs a tons of maintenance. Especialy upstairs needs some attention. So I usually bang em on the couch as my living room is pretty much in order. I only take em upstairs when they've been over a couple of times. Also, make sure the toilet they're gonna use is clean, and has some soap and a towel near it's fountain.

This should be one of the ten commandments!
It's absolutely vital your crapper is sparkling clean if you are anticipating female company although
unless you're some sort of pikey, it should be anyway.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

Seems you are caring too much on what you can provide a female you are just trying to fvck. Stop looking for approval. I'd also leave that sh!t pit called San Fransisco. Isn't the place overrun with homeless people and bums?

Control what you can control. We have a renter who has done a magnificent garden in the yard on his own dime.. He added a gravel border, and keeps the cobwebs swept and grass mown. It stands out among the surroundings.

You can do the same...Sweep/vacuum your common hallway, Hell, mop it too. Paint the door and trim. Shampoo your carpet, paint your walls. Clean your bathroom . Make your apartment an oasis in the desert.

Keep your place neat, clean, and organized. If she cares how your place looks even if it's in that state, then she probably isn't worth your time anyways.

If she's coming over, she most likely wants to bang and she isn't going to care too much about your apartment.

San Fransisco literally has a poop map. Absolute sh!thole.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

I don't know why you guys care so damn much for bringing woman to where you live, just go to her place or a motel or something, i prefer they don't know where I live.
This is exactly my thought. It would be easier for me to bolt from her place if I am unsatisfied, than to try to have to kick her out of my place. Plus, if she is BPD or in anyway revengeful, there is less of a risk of stalking or worse if things don't turnout the way she wants.

Bi-Polar Disorder
no......

Borderline Personality Disorder

.... an illness marked by an ongoing pattern of varying moods, self-image, and behavior. These symptoms often result in impulsive actions and problems in relationships. People with borderline personality disorder may experience intense episodes of anger, depression, and anxiety that can last from a few hours to days.

Bipolar Disorder
Overview

Bipolar disorder (formerly called manic-depressive illness or manic depression) is a mental disorder that causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, concentration, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks.
There are three types of bipolar disorder. All three types involve clear changes in mood, energy, and activity levels. These moods range from periods of extremely “up,” elated, irritable, or energized behavior (known as manic episodes) to very “down,” sad, indifferent, or hopeless periods (known as depressive episodes). Less severe manic periods are known as hypomanic episodes.

Yes. I stand corrected. Thanks.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

so the ugly painted exterior, broken windows here and there, trash building up in common areas and some of the maintenance issues won't be a turn off as long as my particular unit is clean (even though it has old appliances and stuff)? Is that what you are saying? All while she stays in a brand new recently built state of the art place with amenities, pool, beautiful appliances etc. There has got to be some level of negative impact to the game on this? The question is whether it is enough to turn off a woman who might otherwise be into me and might be initially thinking of sex when coming over but then seeing the building.

This would be a turn off for many women. Many women are judgmental upon possessions. The age, make/model of your car, your housing surroundings, and your actual dwelling unit/single family home are relevant.

A woman in a luxury building has the potential to turn her nose down at your place, especially if she is over 30 and considering that your age is 41. In my 30s, I had a woman in her 30s who owned a newer Lexus SUV model refuse to go on a 2nd date with me, citing the 10+ year old age of my car and non luxury brand status. She might have said that and that wasn't the actual reason.

Move as soon as you can. Keep your unit nice but the overall property condition will work against you.

There's probably some negative aspects to the appearance of your building. But if she has high interest and wants to bang, she won't pay it too much attention.

If you make it obvious that you're bothered by it and bothered by the fact she lives in a luxury place, you'll give off the vibe you're not good enough and kill any attraction.

Didn't someone once say that you cannot negotiate desire (for sex).....Would maintaining an immaculately-clean apartment, in a luxury or otherwise desirable apartment building, be considered part of negotiation? Or, does it fall into the DHV (demonstrating higher value) territory? Curious.....
