I will be getting braces in a few weeks. I don't really need them, but I know I will be glad I had them later on in life. My question is, will this be a problem with in comes to developing into a Don Juan? I am starting college in the fall, and I don't want braces to affect my first year of college.

Can't you get those behind-the-teeth braces or the Invisilines or whatever they're called? Sorry, but I think braces at 18+ are going to be a major turn-off.

you sound like you deal with self-confidence issues. look, braces are important to you, and you can't change it other than by not having them, which would create problems down the road. So, Hakuna Matata. Just project yourself as someone worth knowing who has a backbone.

I wanted to get invisilines, but unfortunately they're not an option for my teeth. I am getting the clear bracket-thingies for the front six ''smile teeth'', though.

P.S. I only need them for a year and a half! :)

I wouldn't worry too much. Everyone, all ages have braces nowadays so don't let it lower your confidence.

I had them for about 2 years my sophomore, junior and a small part of my senior year in high school. I had girls actually tell me the braces were "cute." While they might not be what women are out there looking for they aren't bad.

They also make you stand out a touch in someway which can workout to your advantage. Like I said though don't worry about it, you will be very satisfied with the results.

One little tip I will give you that is important is to take time brushing your teeth. Make sure you brush around each brace as best as possible.

It makes no difference whatsoever. Proof? The most popular guy at my school wore braces.

One of my mates has braces, he's laid 17 girls and he's 21.

Bro, I got braces put on in the summer and I was feeling the same way... however, the ladies that I have met since then have all commented with things like:

"They look cute",
"You can hardly notice",
or "It says alot about your character".

Translation...

they were either letting me know that it isn't a big issue, reassuring me that they don't care, or telling me that I care about my appearence and they respect that.

People WILL notice them, but then quickly forget and find other triggers to stimulate conversation.

my two cents

S.K.

eeda way, what ya say is what matters! I got bad acne, it don't bother me, and I don't even have to smile to get girls, just smirk:)p), they come to me.

Braces ain't bad at all, never seen any problem against people with braces, and after they're done with em they got good teeth, and thats how you judge a horse! Good teeth is a goal, thats why you brush, and chew gum.

Great job on doze braces:D:D :D :D :D :D :D
