I've been wondering this for awhile. There are so many guys on here who talk about their old BPD girlfriends, it's practically become part of pickup terminology, like "AFC". Here's my question:

Did your girlfriends have an official medical diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder given by a mental health professional? Or are you just saying they exhibited these symptoms, therefore they are BPD?

Just curious, because I've worked with some actual BPD women before (very severe cases).

Mine was diagnosed with "Anxiety" and she was popping Celexa.

Isn't Celexa for major depression?

Plus her mom was a ho and her dad cheated too.

Made for such a wonderful young woman.

Cluster B women, and BPD women in particular rarely present themselves for treatment and so a formal diagnosis is also rare. Secondly their first port of call when life gets intolerable to them is often a sympathetic female counselor and, we all know how THAT goes...

A sypmtom of their disorder is a distorted belief in their infallibilty. They truly believe that they are never wrong, never make mistakes and should never be accountable for the potholes that they frequently find themselve in.
Now, before yo'all yell back at me. " Jophil, that sounds like every woman I have ever dated .." read on ...
BPD/HPD (and NPD) women take this belief to the level of delusion. Most 'normal' women often fight off the thoughts that they F up from time to time, and often try to blame shift. BPD women are so nacissistic and in love with victimhood that they truly belief that they are faultless in spite of the trail of wreckage that they create in others' lives. They just do not believe that they sh!t trouble and destruction in spite of the stinking mess that they crap on others..

I actually compared my Ex girlfriends behavior ( over a year) with the signs and symptoms of BPD set out in the DSM. Her behavior matched almost exactly . That we was good enough for me.

Finally - Back in late 2006 I was alerted to the possibility of her being a CLuster B trainwreck by a few of the regulars on this forum . MY family doctor, and the counselor that G/f and I were seeing ( I made the appointment for both of us ) was no help at all in naming her disorder..

Are all BPD women to be avoided ?
If you want a peaceful and happy life, don't make a BPD girl your wife.

Mine started going to some kind of therapy one night after she screwed up really bad. She never would tell me exactly what kind of therapy it was or what was going on with it. It lasted about two months. It was a move by her to keep me from dumping her on her ass after a particularly fvcked up night. When she called me the next day she said she wouldnt blame me if I never talked to her again, and that she made an appointment with a therapist cuz she was sick of acting that way.

The thing is, she would probably feed the therapist the same kind of bullshyt that had me fooled for so long too. She had REALLY good lies and excuses, and i dont know if therapists can see through them as easily as I would hope.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

Yes,diagnosed and certified.
She was depressed when I met her and popping Prozac, blamed it on the situation with her BF.

When we got together she literally tossed the happy pills out the car window one day and proclaimed "I'm cured !".

Months, maybe a couple of years later she had a breakdown which she blamed on "baby blues"...referral to a shrink..diagnosed as paranoid-maniac depressive....then as bipolar...then finally, after a couple of years diagnosed with BPD and possibly MPD.
I attended several sessions.Prescribed several drugs which she took for a while then stopped saying that made her "feel funny and not herself".

She admitted to being a little broken but blamed everybody for that, first I could do no wrong and at the end I was the worst.Classic.

I was told that a confirmed diagnosis of certain "levels" or "types" of mental illness will cause a cutoff in healthcare funding due to historic difficulties making any headway with these particular cases (BPD = hopeless). So, I was told, many times, psycologists tame down the official diagnosis in order to milk the health care money.

Chick's still "troubled" but this way she qualifies for more "help".$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Good point.
IN addition, it is worth remembering that BPD/HPD women are consumate actresses . They have to be because they have no stable core identity, and so they repeadedly 'invent' themselves to fit and mold into the setting and context of their interactions with others. They become what the audience expects, and they are experts at "reading the room ".
This ability enables them to appear to be "the girl of my dreams" to us men who are unaware of what is actually taking place.
They are often called "The Great Chameleons", and in this expression is the acknowledgement of their skills at becoming what their target needs them to be.
Beware of that "perfect woman" ,men .

Yes. I think it was at a mental hospital she was in after one of her teenage suicide attempts.

I have tried to stop talking to her, but she still texts me occasionally. She did last night, saying she was drunk and thinking of me. My current live-in girlfriend *loved* seeing that text; she hates bpd girl with an intense passion. It is cute. The last time I talked to bpd girl, she said her last druggie boyfriend beat her up, then she left him for a lesbian, then her last girlfriend got jealous and bpd girl beat her up. I am fairly sure that she will be dead of a drug overdose eventually, but that may take several more years.
