Bootcamp 2005 Week#3 - One step further

Hear yee, hear yee. It's a Wednesday.
I can barely remember what happened now. I suffer from short term memory loss but I always remember there's opportunity. Talked to HBchub on the way to town. Would I consider dating her?.. Yes, for this week's exercise's sake. She is in the last yr of uni and wants to shoot for another 3 yrs for a PHD.
I got to the cbd at 8:30am and HB8 brunette was waiting outside a travel agent. I was too waiting for it to open so I initiated some sweet sweet talking. It turned out she was waiting for the manager to get there cos she worked there.
Not week 3 relevant but talked to a dude who played college baseball in America. He doesn't play no more cos he got hit in the head by the ball and was put in a coma. The whole time I thought he got hit while batting but it turns out he was the pitcher and the ball return to his skull at double the pace. Huge indentation on the left side of his head. Also, he speak really fast.
Talked with a HB7brunette at the bus stop on the way back home. Asked her my over-used line whenever I catch the bus, "Have you seen the 576 go by yet?" She too was catching the same bus. She has 2 kids, 15 and 16. Divorced. Gave massive IOIs. Well at least she was the one chatting me up, she must of read "How to be a great conversationalist". Could of numba closed but she was out of my range. Age that is. Saw her at the supermarket today when I went shopping with my sis. Made EC and she said Hi. She could be doing BC as well. Anyway social proff infront of sis, yeshh.. Fvck, I'm getting tired. So there's my 10 for this week. Rejoice!
I found out today I've still got a thyroid problem. On friday I'm going in for another dosage of radiation. Medical related. No it's not to get a mutant dik. But it means I am a risk to the public so I'm gonna be out of action for 2 weeks. This means no work, no social life and no BC. It also means tomorrow I'm gonna get my ten rejections. I think my balls of steel warrant a test.
I've got a follow up in Jan '06 so I won't be going to the US any time soon. My friggin life is in limbo.

My attempt at weeks 1-3 in two weeks is slowly getting back on track. Eye contact is automatic now (for my part) getting others to meet it is tougher, especially on morning commute where everyone is hurrying here and there. Had some luck with a cute girl this morning - long EC, I smiled, she looked as if she was about to but I guess social conditioning took over. I should have just said, "morning" or "hi."
Two convos with cute girls at lunchtime. First was in Boots (large chain of chemists where girl to guy ratio is always at least 7 to 1.) I went there half looking for a conversational opportunity. Was browsing moisturisers and saw a cute brunette so I asked for some input. Told her I needed something for my face after running in cold weather (hey, I can be metro and I keep in shape.) She was happy to help and took me to another part of the store to show me what she would use. Short convo but it was something out of nothing.
Second one was unplanned. On way back to work there was a guy in a dark overcoat and shades handing out flyers. I got one and so did a girl just behind me. The flyer was for a new speed dating service. She was laughing at the flyer so I just turned and chatted to her like we knew each other. I said something like, "The way that guy was dressed I thought he was recruiting for the KGB or something." Then we had a brief convo about the cost of the service and that neither of us would be going. Then we crossed the road and went in different directions. (I imagine a quicker thinking DJ could have gone for some sort of close here.)
Lessons learned this week - EC should be confident and warm as opposed challenging (gotta get that handled.) Girls are happy to help you out in a store if you ask for their input even if they were acting like you didn't exist 5 seconds ago. Girls check out guys too but they are a lot sneakier about it.

For anyone considering bootcamp I say DO IT! I was out this evening to meet the new team I will be working with and there was a two set in the bar I was keen to approach but couldn't really because I was with my new boss. These exercises build confidence like you wouldn't believe.
