Hey guys,

After reading the post 'the secret of the jerk' by post I started thinking about how much hormones can make of a difference.
Lately I saw a tv programme about the link between agression and nutrition. The programme showed some parents of ADHD children who changed their children's behaviour by changing their what their children ate. Then a scientist was interviewed who succesfully decreased the amount of agression in prison by adding vitamines to the food. (BTW, if there are are dutch guys reading this, I have a realvideo link of this programme)

Combining these two things, it gotta be possible to change my hormones (and with those hormones my manly behaviour) by changing my food patterns. So I started googling and found the following: http://www.4-men.org/nutrition.html.
It sais that I should eat more brocolli, cabbage and Brussels sprouts and that I should eat more meat (no fat meat).

How realiable is this stuff? Are there other things that I should eat more or that I should eat less?

It hardly seems like a reputable site with respect to nutrition, but the advice seems sound, and in any case, won't hurt.

The body is one big chemical factory; all of the reactions your body can produce is sitting there, until it gets the stimulus (enzyme) it needs to start those reactions. So sure, it makes a difference what you eat.

Im an armchair nutritionist and could be wrong, but the more you run into complex proteins, the better the "bricks" your body has to use to build itself. Dipeptides and tripeptides are very long protein chains. So the article makes sense to me from a casual read.

I dont have the source, but recently circulated in CNN and other news that our brains may have evolved intelligence when our ancestors cooked their food, thereby breaking down and refolding the proteins into much more complicated chains which developed our brains. Talk about you are what you eat.

Anyway, whey, yogert, cottage cheese are good sources (processes which break down milk chains into longer chains) as well as milk, eggs (best source) have nice long chains to begin with.

Alright, but what I'm trying to find out is, how can I control my hormones. I tried google and unfortunately this was the only site that came out.
Are there lists of hormones-boosting food or are there books/sites about it? Or do you boost your male hormones in an other way? Because testosteron is important in working out, isn't it?

Well I got a little OT there, but the basic principles are there. I mean, Eggs contain cholestorol, which is the base means for all anabolic hormones, which is needed to produce Testosterone in the first place.

Anyway, a better place to search for info is testosterone.net and use the search function there. They do mention their products and services, but doesnt mean their info isnt solid.

The link which you stated didn't have any references, always be careful when doing research if they don't reference.
If you want more info perhaps email the administrator of the site to get the references and get the info from the horses mouth ie. the original journals these guys say they are getting their info from.
Hope this helps a little
Cheers
