We always talk about a man looking his best in order to help attract women. We talk a lot about the gym and clothing, but I thought Id bring up grooming the body. I was looking at some old threads and thought to bring things up. I have three main things I focus on;
1. Facial hair. As a black man with very curly hair, I suffer from ingrown hairs if I dont stay on top of my facial hair. My options to avoid ingrown hairs is to grow a beard, or to trim my beard down to a fine stubble. I like looking youthful so I prefer not to have a beard. But I cannot rock a baby butt smooth chin because the very curly hair will grow right into the skin and become a painful and unsightly bump. I use Andis trimmers that trim very close to the skin, but not too close. Theres just enough hair freely sticking out of the follicle. And thanks to my darker skin tone, I can appear to be close to clean shaven, despite down being exactly there.
I still get the odd ingrown here or there, but they are milder than if I did a razor shave (which I never do anymore). I still have to hawk-eye my face during the weak and lift any hairs that try to curl down into the skin. Tweezers, a needle and boar brush are very helpful tools. Brothers already know about all these tricks, but for dudes who dont already know the drill, get yourself some trimmers and a boar brush. Its also important to wash your face twice daily, in order to make your facial hair more manageable (and if you battle with acne like I do, washing twice is a must)
2. Body hair. I have an average amount of chest, armpit, arm, leg, and pubic hair. I have no backhair really (thankfully). I find most women enjoy a guy who trims down body hair. So I have a trimmer just for my body and I trim down my armpit pits and pubes if I wanna look my best in the bed room (not bald...just take the hair down a bit). Sometimes I also completely remove chest hair so my muscle tone shows through nicely. Never had any complaints.
Also, regarding arm and leg hair, I never really touch that. Luckily I dont have Robin Williams or your average Indian guys type of hair growth lol. However, on certain beach days I may buzz the legs to show off dem quads lol. However, for the most part, I really only ever pay attention to pubes and underarms since women tend to appreciate manscaping those areas and getting cleaned up a bit.
3. Hands and feet. This is the area I have problems with and could use advice. My hands arent much a problem, but my feet kinda are. Playing bass and guitar has given my calluses on my fingertips. While lifting weights, the gripping has given me calluses where my fingers meet my palms. Those peel even when I wear lifting gloves...so I tend to peel the lil bits of skin off and then buff the area. Regarding fingernails, I just keep em trimmed while also cutting cutting hails, and filing rough cuticles. Sounds lame, but my hands would look like sh!t if I didnt do any of this.
Now my feet, Ill be honest and say they are fvking ugly. Ugly too the point that if I dont stay on top of them, girls would definitely notice and be put off. Chicks noticed when I was a teenager, so Ive always been mindful of them. My big toes have rough, hard skin on their knuckles, that I have to buff so Its not that noticeable. And the nails on all my toes are very hard and not as pink as my fingernails (they come in noticeably darker) Also, my nails are rough, scaly, and dry where the nails meet my cuticle and toes.
Like once a month, after cutting my toenails, Ill sit down for like 20 minutes using the file on my clippers to try and smooth out the roughness on my nails and big toe knuckes. I guess I gotta outright ask....for a dude with legit ugly feet...is it worth getting a pedicure once to get all the nasty sh!t off. I figure after that I can stay on top of it myself. You should see my feet when I forget to do anything to em for a few weeks. Sh!ts not pretty.
