A universe...where heartbreak and sadness have bee
The Boxster is an old man's car. If you're gonna get one, I'd say the M Roadster. Or just get a 911 Convertible...you're rich, you can afford it. :D

There are few certainties in this world -- however the fact that the BMW is far superior just happens to be one of them.
I have driven plenty of BMWs and know ALOT of people that have them. Far superior I think not...they have too many issues to be that. Granted Porsche has their share but there is a certain feeling that you get when driving a Boxster with the top down that can't be matched.

yes I understand there may be technical issues to look at, and I'm not going to pretend I know anything about cars, BUT..we must also consider the aesthetic side of things; the BMW looks nicer, no doubt about.

And the Porsche just has too much of a "sissy" feel to it, imo.

Don't take this personally.....Are you blind?

I drive a 99' Boxster and I people tell me all the time "Nice car,is it new?","Who what is your car, its beautiful" and the best compliment...I look around as I drive and all 30+ year old guys shake their head in disbeleif looking at me as I'm only 18.

To each their own.

That doesn't mean they wouldn't also praise the BMW, if you owned one.

How can you afford such an expensive vehicle at 18?

I've decided to save my money and stick with the 350Z. I'm gonna take a fraction of the money i would have spent on either of these cars and invest it into upgrades. The end result will look something like this:

(except with dark tint, shaved-off front emblem, and silver sidemarkers instead of orange ones)

I'm gonna start racing it too, so perhaps i'll invest in a twin turbo somewhere down the line. Holy sh1t, i'd be eating Ferraris for breakfast then

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

Almost bought a GST when i was 19. Glad i didn't. 350Z > DSM :p
To each his own :D I'm glad I invested my time and money into my DSM. I can toy with just about any car out there, most memorable a heavily modified $70k + Corvette Z06. Ferrari's, Porches, Lamborghinis....childs play:)

But I must say...STICK WITH THE 350Z! They are really nice cars and very reliable. I would say buy a turbo/supercharger kit and ride.

Well I am sure most of you will not agree with me.. but unless you can buy a car without having to take out a loan or finance it.. you really should not be buying the car.. unless you are buying a car for transportation purposes. The primary purpose of a car is transportation, if you are buying it for other reasons.. well thats your choice but I would advise against it.

I used to have a 2 seater car and it was a pain in the ass (handed to me by my dad - i didnt chose the car). So can someone explain to me the 2 seater roadster thing?
The roadster concept is that the car should be low slung, have a long bonet, stubby tail and the rear wheels are right behind the drivers seat. It gives a unique driving experience where the car appears to pivot around you. Its the look and feel in place of practicality and everyday usability. My choice would be the Z4, the boxster is for people who cant afford a proper 911 :p Dream car is a 911turbo though...*sigh* one day!

350Z's are awesome. If it came down to it I would get the Z4. My #1 beef with boxters (As well as something I like) is that they look nearly ideantical from the late 90s till now. I honestly can't tell the diff between a 99 and an 06. However this does mean you can buy a 00 for about $20k and look like you drive a brand new one

I bet this is from someone who hasn't driven both the 911 or Boxster. They are two completely different breeds of cars. By the way in case any of you are wondering,Boxsters do beat out 911s at autocrosses.

Simple choice, really. Do you want to drive the official "angry divorcee with a great lawyer" car, or do you want the M?
I wouldn't say it was that simple. If you spell M out completely it reads: "frustrated middle-management sales tool" car, which equals out with "angry divorcee with a great lawyer" so far as I can tell. In any case, the Boxter has it's engine in the right end of the car, and is a better balanced machine... not to mention that it comes from a company that has somehat of a soul (well... if you ignore that Cayene thing, that is...)

Funny you say that, but I'd say the Boxter (or, moreover, Cayman) platfrom is more "proper", and the aging 911 simply more powerful and better equipped so far as performance pieces go. The Boxter S will put in the same lap times as a Carrera 4 after all for $20+k less. They should just do a 400 bhp, GT3-esque spec car on the Cayman underpinnings and kill the big ol' rear-engined 911 for good... and I'd take a GT3-RS over a standard (non GT2) Turbo ANY day of the week.
