I just finished watching a tv show in which a guy and a girl go to a remote island. They must be nude, and they must find if they like 'fall in love' with each other, all this in two days time span.

Ok, so here we have a surfer/hippie kind of guy, and a HB8 who is posh, materialistic, and pretty sentitive.

They talk for a whole day and realise they have little in common, but they're compatible in some aspects like they both play the guitar, like similar music etc. This guy is really really sensitive, he writes songs and plays the guitar and another instrument.

Now, to add a spark, another guy comes to the insland. This guy is more ripped than the surfer and is also older, has some tattoos etc.
He chooses the direct approach, and starts to kino the girl, he lifts her in the water etc while the surfer watches paralised. He even kisses her because he wanted to 'revive' her after they swam.

The girl really digs this other guy. Then the program arranges a 'date' for the new guy and the girl. They go to some nice mattress in the middle of the beach with some pinkcushions. He shows that he can speach another language which really makes the girl like him even more until the point where she says to him that he earned a kiss, so they kiss.

BUT, here it comes the unexpected: the surfer starts to realise that he is loosing the girl so he goes to talk to her, asks her if she likes the other guy more, confronts her about what is going on, asks if they kissed etc (all this in a sensitive, looser way), and she lies and tells him that the other guy stole a kiss from her, while she was the one who suggested a kiss. He shows jealousy in an open way.
By the second night in the island they're all having dinner and the surfer gets his guitar and improvises a song for her in which he says romantic things to her. She really likes it. Besides, she confesses that now that he is showing he's jelaous she realises that she is important for him.
The older guy just watches paralysed. Half a day ago he was about to bang her but now she's changing her mind for the 'romantic, jelaous, beta (?)' surfer.

They play a game and the older guy wins so he gets the right to spend the night with the woman in the same mattress but...the surfer starts to bother them, he lays next to their mattress and says that he's gonna watch her the whole night. The older guy complains a bit and tells him to go somewhere else but he persists.
By the middle of the night the girl decides to leave the mattress and go to another bed with the surfer to cuddle.

In the end she chooses to start a relationship with the surfer.

WTF??? this older guy had all the 'alpha' attributes, and this other dude had a lot of 'beta' attributes and she choosed him!

Anyway, in my opinion this HB8 must have had a lot of 'alpha' di-cks in her past so now she choosed a more beta/sensitive guy instead of the alpha/bad boy type.

Without knowing too much, my initial impression was provider wins in this case because they are on a remote island. If anything goes wrong and they get stuck, a provider is better to have than a lover (alpha) that would probably put his own safety before her's. But yeah, you're over-analyzing, she could have gone with the surfer "loser" for any number of reasons.

Haha, first of all it is a TV show. "show" could be scripted for all you know.

Second of all you cannot generalize one scenario to the rest of the world. She went for a safer option, it doesn't mean that she would continue seeing the surfer.

I remember watching a dating show where a beta guy was picked...but being a British show they had to throw some grey in there. When credits were shown, producers subtitled that after the show the girl never contacted the guy.

World is not black and white, so don't view it in Alpha/Beta way, please.

Having said that, I would encourage you to strive towards building a strong personality which includes gaining wisdom (general knowledge), self-control(being able to say no to yourself) and ability to speak (your social intelligence and understanding of how to communicate effectively)
